Waiting for Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) to hit your Lava X900 ? You’re in luck as Intel has just finished off porting the latest version of Android to its Medfield chips. The Android 4.1 build is complete and is being used as a daily driver by Intel employees said Mike Bell, Mobile group General Manager, in an interview with PC World.
There’s still the lengthy process of carrier approval for those using phones like the Orange San Diego but devices like the X900 should expect to see the update a bit sooner. The timing is quite interesting as Motorola gets ready to announce its first phone running on Intel’s architecture. If rumors are to be believed then the hardware will include a very powerful 2Ghz Intel Medfield chip. We’ll have more on the Jelly Bean roll out for Intel chips soon.
