Google released Android N Developer Preview 2 last week that brought several new features, including launcher shortcuts, Vulkan API and Unicode 9 emojis. Launcher shortcuts lets developers to define shortcuts, which users can expose in the launcher to help them perform actions quicker. It will also support pressure-sensitive screens that are currently found in very few Android devices and will also offer deeper virtual reality integration for developers, according to new details.
Google is internally referring to Android N as New York Cheesecake. Android Police has found out various references to “nyc”or New York Chessecake in the Android Open Source Project repository.

Yesterday was all about Android N as Google released the preview for its upcoming version of Android. Android N is currently limited to Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Nexus 9, and Pixel C devices. The list does not include the Nexus 5 but it looks like there is a chance the device might get Android N.
