Xiaomi’a Mi A1 was one of the most successful smartphones for the company, and it is also the first Android One phone from Xiaomi in India. General Mobile has announced GM 5, its latest budget 4G smartphone in the ‘Android One’ lineup in partnership with Google. It runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat), but this has almost similar specifications as the General Mobile 4G that was introduced last year that includes 5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 410 SoC, 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Google has started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for Android One devices. The move comes from Google more than two weeks after it started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for Nexus devices.
Google last night started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat OTA update for select Nexus devices and it will gradually roll out to Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C and General Mobile 4G (Android One) users over the coming weeks. Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google will be visiting India later this month and will be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as President Pranab Mukherjee. New reports suggest that there is one more agenda to the trip and that is to launch v2.0 of Android One.
It seems that some Android One devices are already receiving the update to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. What is even more surprising is that the update includes the security patch for the month of December 2015.
Cyanogen are apparently planning big things for the year 2016 as it aims to launch several smartphones in 2016 including a flagship product by partnering with various manufacturers.

Google has expanded its Android One program to Spain and Portugal, which are the latest European countries where the Android One smartphone is officially launching, after Turkey. It has partnered with hardware manufacturer BQ to launch the Aquaris A4.5 Android One smartphone with 4G LTE support in these countries.
