Samsung to fix Exynos 4 exploit with software update soon

A XDA member recently found an exploit in the Samsung devices powered by Exynos 4210 or a 4412 processors that would offer read/write access to the physical memory through malicious applications. Android Central now reports that they have received a official word from Samsung who have announced that they have acknowledged this issue and are working on a software fix that would roll out for these devices soon. Blackberry 10 to launch with 70,000 apps in App world

Apps have become important for every mobile operating system, thanks to Apple and iOS, both Andorid and iOS now have more than half a million applications and one of the places where Blackberry failed at their O.S and smartphones before was the category of apps available. Now, Frank Boulben, the CMO of RIM has stated that consumers can expect more than 70,000 apps for the Blackberry 10 at launch.

Now 70,000 applications is really good news, but it also matters whether these applications are actually useful or are just useless. The quality of this application also matters, as developers have already shifted to platforms which is more popular like Android and iOS, so it is important to know whether they will devote time to make the experience of users better or not. Blackberry 10 is set to launch on Jan 30 2013, and it is a very important launch for RIM which will decided their survival. Twitter for BlackBerry v4.0 update brings better navigation with new tabs

Twitter for BlackBerry has been updated to version 4.0 that brings new streamlined design and new tabs for better interaction. Connect tab shows you who retweeted, favorited and followed you, and also shows mentions. The Discover tab shows Trends, Who to follow suggestions and makes it easy to browse categories. The Me tab shows Messages, lists and favorited Tweets. These new tabs were available for Twitter for Android and iPhone last December. Apple Releases iOS 6.0.2 Software Update

Apple has released iOS 6.0.2 for iPhone 5 and iPad mini. The release notes for the iPhone note only that an unnamed Wi-Fi bug has been fixed.

Nvidia Tegra 4 slide leaks – Wayne GPU brings 72 cores

 

What you see above is a leaked slide from a Nvidia Tegra 4 aka Wayne presentation that appeared on the Chinese social networking site Sina Weibo. The slide reveals some interesting details about the new system on a chip from Nvidia, the apparent successor to the Tegra 3 mobile platform.

Huawei to unveil Ascend D2 with 5-inch 1080p display and Ascend W1 at CES 2013

Richard Yu, Senior Vice President of Huwaei has confirmed that the company would unveil the Ascend D2 Android Smartphone with a 5-inch 1080p (1920 × 1080 pixels) display and Ascend W1 Windows Phone 8 device at CES 2013. The Ascend D2 would be the successor of the Ascend D1 that was announced at MWC 2012. The Ascend W1 would be the company’s first Windows Phone 8 device. Samsung has announced Galaxy Grand, a new Android phone in the Galaxy series. It has a 5-inch (800 x 480 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. It runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8MP auto focus camera with LED flash, BSI sensor for better low-light imaging, zero shutter-lag and ultra-quick camera start-up. It also has a 2MP HD front-facing camera. It would come in dual SIM (GT-I9082) and single SIM (GT-I9080) variants. Zen Mobile has launched UltraTab A700 3G, their new tablet in the UltraTab range. Bluetooth file transfer on the Nokia Lumia 800 running Windows Phone 7.8

Earlier, we had reported that the latest update of Windows Phone for the current 7.5 devices, the Windows Phone 7.8 has started rolling out to the Nokia Lumia 800 worldwide. We had went ahead with a shortcut for getting the Windows Phone 7.8 onto the Nokia Lumia 800, by flashing an official copy from the Navifirm servers onto our devices. Our first attempt went in vain as we were not able to get the complete set of features that is supposed to have come with the Nokia specific Windows Phone update. So, we gave it another try, and then we had two new apps sitting on our device, Bluetooth share and Ringtone maker.

Google reveals YouTube Capture app for the iPhone, iPod Touch

Google just launched a dedicated YouTube camera application for iOS users. Called YouTube Capture, the app lets you record and instantly share a video clip to YouTube right from within its interface. The video can also be shared on a range of mobile networks straight from the app itself.
