Samsung denies development of custom CPU cores

Samsung went all-in on Snapdragon chips for its recently released Galaxy S23 series. Furthermore, it is expected that the company will follow suit with its upcoming Galaxy S24 series. Samsung’s next high-end Exynos chip codenamed “Quadra”

Samsung is having a tough time with its in-house Exynos chipsets, and it looks like the company is trying its best to fix that. It was previously reported that the company wants to develop exclusive chips for Galaxy devices, which will be available in 2025. But now, a popular leaker, Roland Quandt says that the next-generation flagship Exynos chipset’s internal codename is “Quadra.” This goes against recent rumours that said that Exynos won’t make a new flagship chipset until 2025. Global smartphone SoC market has crossed $8 billion in Q3 2017 as the chipset market grew 19% according to Counterpoint Research’s Component Tracker for Q3, 2017. Despite the neck tight problems throughout the year, Qualcomm topped the list and is responsible for 42% of the total revenue generated by chipsets followed by Apple. Samsung Exynos 5420 Octa with ARM Mail T628 GPU announced

Samsung has unveiled an upgraded Exynos 5420 Octa chip as they announced last week. The new Exynos Chip is faster that the previous 5410 chip that was announced at the CES 2013 earlier this year. The Exynos 5420 Octa chip has fours Cortex A15 chips clocked at 1.8 GHz and four Cortex A7 chips running at 1.3 GHz in a big.LITTLE processing implementation. The first Exynos 5410 Octa chip used in the global variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4 is also based on Samsung’s ARM big.LITTLE architecture with four Cortex A15 chips clocked at 1.6 GHz and four Cortex A7 chips running at 1.2 GHz. Samsung to fix Exynos 4 exploit with software update soon

A XDA member recently found an exploit in the Samsung devices powered by Exynos 4210 or a 4412 processors that would offer read/write access to the physical memory through malicious applications. Android Central now reports that they have received a official word from Samsung who have announced that they have acknowledged this issue and are working on a software fix that would roll out for these devices soon. Samsung announces 1.4GHz Exynos 4 Quad processor for their ‘next Galaxy’ smartphone

Samsung has announced their new Exynos 4 Quad that is built on 32nm HKMG process and is based on 1.4GHz ARM CORTEX A9 quad-core. It would offer better performance with twice the processing power over the 45nm process based Exynos 4 Dual and would be also be energy efficient with 20% less power consumption.
