Google Nexus 7 16GB version went on sale in India from the Google Play Store back in March at a price tag of Rs. 15,999, and the 32GB version went on sale from the Google Play last month at Rs. 18,999. Asus launched the 32GB WiFi and 32GB 3G versions of the tablet in India last month. The 3G version went on sale only from select retail shops such as Reliance, but it didn’t show up on Google Play. Now online retailer Snapdeal has started selling the Nexus 7 32GB WiFi + 3G version along with the 32 GB WiFi version. Nokia Lumia 928 with PureView camera confirmed
Nokia Lumia 928, the company’s upcoming smartphone for Verizon has confirmed on the official Nokia US website. The phone has also been advertised on Vanity Fair magazine and recently spotted on a bill board in the US. Hike Messenger to come pre-loaded on select Nokia Lumia and Asha phones
Bharti Softbank (BSB), a joint-venture between Bharti Enterprises and SoftBank Corp have announced that they have partnered with Nokia to pre-load its Hike cross-platform messaging app app on its phones, according to a report. The Hike app is available for Android, iPhone, Windows Phone and for Nokia S40 devices from the respective app stores. It launched talk-time rewards for customers earlier this year, and released a Beta version of the application for BlackBerry last month. UC Web announces partnership with Trend Micro for in-browser mobile web safety assessment
Over at the Global Mobile Internet Conference, UCWeb has announced a new partnership with global internet security expert, Trend Micro. Under the agreement, both companies will work to provide mobile web safety assessments in the browser. The aim is provide a comprehensive safety net for users of the product via cloud based security scans in the browser and also for Android apps downloaded via the UC Web browser.
Trend Micro analyzes as much as 4.46TB of data every day and has identified 350,000 high risk Android applications. This number is further expected to grow by 400% to 1.4 million in 2013.
UC Web with a global userbase in excess of 400 million and with 200 million daily registered clicks aims to provide comprehensive cloud based security for its users through its partnership with Trend Micro. The technology in question is Trend Micro’s Application Reputation Service (MARS) that works with both websites and Android applications. The service has analyzed close to 3 million Android apps to date with about 560,000 of them being flagged as malicious. UC Web has added the feature to version 7.4 of its browser making it the world’s first ‘secure mobile browser’.Considering the browser’s popularity in developing markets, the move is a welcome addition. Vodafone launches Superfan Junior contest for IPL 2013
Vodafone India launched the Superfan contest for their customers last month, that runs till May 20, 2013. Jonathan Rubinstein more popularly known as Jon Rubinstein is a pretty famous name in the tech industry and famous for heading the iPod project at Apple. He later left Apple to join Palm and was later appointed as CEO. He subsequently joined HP after HP’s much criticized acquisition of Palm. Intel Silvermont architecture targets high performance with low power consumption
Intel today announced the next step of its mobile strategy. The Silvermont architecture is a complete departure from the Clover Trail and Clover Trail+ chips that Intel has been pushing since 2008. With a switch to yearly update cycles, the company hopes to be much more competitive in the extremely hot mobile chipset segment.

Xolo Q700 with 4.5-inch qHD IPS display, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.2 coming soon
Xolo teased an upcoming smartphone on their official Facebook page few hours back, now the phone has appeared on online retail site Flipkart. Xolo launched the Q800, the company’s first phone with a quad-core processor back in March. The Xolo Q700 would be next phone in the Q-Core series. It has a 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) 16M color capacitive touch screen IPS display based on one-glass solution (OGS) technology that would reduce the phone’s thickness. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589W-M processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5MP rear camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor and 720p HD video recording and a 0.3 (MP) VGA front-facing camera. It also has dual SIM support with dual standby similar to other Xolo smartphones. It packs a 2400 mAh battery, larger than the Q800. Byond Tech has launched B67, a new Android Smartphone in the B-Series. It come with a 5-inch (800 x 480 Pixels) Capacitive multi-touch Touch display with scratch resistant glass, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Byond B66 that was launched back in February had similar features but it came with a single-core processor. It has a 8MP auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. Karbonn is all set to launch the S2 Titanium, the company’s new Android smartphone in their Titanium range. The S1 Titanium which was launched earlier this year had a 4.5-inch qHD (960 × 540 pixels) display and the S5 Titanium went on sale back in March had a larger 5-inch display with the same qHD resolution. The Karbonn S2 Titanium would come with a similar 5-inch display, but this would come with a FWVGA screen (854×480 pixels). It would be powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) similar to the other smartphones in the Titanium range.
