India migrating from feature phones to Android smartphones: Opera Report

India is the fastest growing smartphone market in the world. The country has seen a rise in migration to smartphones from basic feature phones, according to the State of the Android Mobile Web report for India by Opera Software.

The report said that India has the largest Opera Mini user base in the world that has increased by 25% over the past year, while its smartphone user base surged by 120%. Meanwhile, the Android smartphones user base has increased by an impressive 160%, said the report.

New Motorola Moto X launched in India starting at Rs. 31999

Motorola has launched the new Moto X (2nd Gen) in India, as it promised earlier this month. It was unveiled earlier this month and packs a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 13-megapixel camera with an f/2.25 lens, dual LED flashes with a circular ring around it and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Dropbox for iOS 8 updated with notification center, shared folders and more

Micromax launched the Canvas A1, the company’s first Android One smartphone recently. We already brought you the unboxing and the photo gallery of the smartphone, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor with ARM Cortex A7 cores and Mali 400 GPU, has a 4.5-inch FWVGA display and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat).
