Asus has announced Fonepad 7 (FE171CG), a refreshed variant of last year’s Fonepad 7 at the CES this year. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 processor with PowerVR SGX544 GPU, similar to the Asus Fonepad 7 FE170CG that was launched in India last year, but this runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) out of the box, comes with a 8-megapixel or 5-megapixel rear camera, 1GB or 2GB RAM depending on the region. Four new Videocon Android smartphones, Infinium Z50Q Star, Infinium Z50Q LiteInfinium Z40 Lite and Infinium Zest Lite have been listed on the official website. These have 5-inch FWVGA, 4-inch WVGA and 3.5-inch HVGA displays, respectively. The Infinium Z50Q Star, Infinium Z50Q Lite, Infinium Z40 Lite run on Android 4.4 (KitKat), while the entry-level Infinium Zest Lite runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). These smartphones have dual SIM support, but only the Infinium Z50Q Star, Z50Q Lite and Z40 Lite have 3G connectivity. Apple UK market share hits record high

Shortly after the global launch of the iPhone 6, Apple called its latest smartphone the greatest yet and according to recent figures, this has translated into sales and a noticeable improvement in Apple’s UK market share. Kantar Worldpanel Comtech report that strong sales of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus resulted in Apple’s market share reaching 42.5 percent in November. Micromax’s YU launched the YU YUREKA (AO5510), the first smartphone under YU brand last month for Rs. 8,999. We brought you the hands on, unboxing and the photo gallery recently. Here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor that has four ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.54 GHz per core and other four Cortex A53 cores are clocked at 1.0 GHz per core. It has Adreno 405 GPU clocked at 550 MHz. It has 2GB DDR3 RAM, 5.5-inch HD screen and runs on Cyanogen OS 11 based on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat). Check out the synthetic benchmark scores below.

Asus Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 5 get a price cut in India

Asus Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 5 smartphone have received a price cut in India. The Zenfone 4 (A400CG) was launched in India for Rs. 5,999 last year and the Zenfone 5 was launched for Rs. 9,999 for 8GB and Rs. 12,999 for 16GB. There is no price cut for the Zenfone 4 (A450CG), which still retails Rs. 6,999.  The Zenfone series received Android 4.4 (KitKat) update last year. Check out the new pricing below. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) 28nm HPm quad-core Krait 400 CPU clocked at 2.15 GHz and has Adreno 330 GPU clocked at 450 MHz.
