Motorola launched a new line of accessories to expand the capability of Moto Z smartphones with an add-on adapters called Moto Mods. During launch, there were four Moto Mods — JBL SoundBoost speaker, Moto Insta-Share projector, Incipio OffGrid battery and Hasselblad True Zoom Camera. Google’s Tango 3D camera technology which is currently present on Lenovo’s Phab2 Pro is expected to land on Motorola’s Moto Z. Aymar de Lencquesaing, Chairman and President of Motorola Mobile business, revealed at a press event that the Moto Z might get Project Tango support using a Mod.

While the Moto G and E series of phones helped the company break into the mass market, it was the Moto X that cemented the company’s foothold in the upper end of the market. The handset encompassed everything that users loved about the Nexus series of phones and delivered added goodies like Moto Maker derived customisation on top.
