HMD Global launched the Nokia 2 budget smartphone in India back in November last year. At the launch the company confirmed that the phone will get Android 8.0 (Oreo) update in the future. Later in December HMD Global’s Chief product officer Juho Sarvikas‏ confirmed that Nokia 2 will get Android 8.1 Oreo update directly skipping 8.0 update, and also said that it the update will bring most of the Android 8.1 features including the memory management improvements. Worldwide smartwatch shipments to hit 43.5 million in 2018 with 34.8% market share: IDC

The worldwide wearables market forecasts an estimate of 124.9 million units by the end of 2018, which is an 8.2% increase from the same time last year. Though the growth is slightly lower than the 10.3% growth experienced in 2017, the market is expected to return to double-digit growth from 2019 until 2022 as smartwatches and other form factors grow according to International Data Corporation (IDC). Honor 10 gets Party Mode, EIS and more via OTA update in India

Huawei’s Honor brand launched its flagship Honor 10 smartphone in India last month running Android 8.1 (Oreo) with EMUI 8.1 on top. Now it has rolled out a new update that brings several new features including party mode feature that lets you connect several phones to play the same song simultaneously, HiTouch that lets you quickly identify objects by scanning them, Paytm entergration, and most expected EIS feature for videos.

OPPO Find X to feature 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, Snapdragon 845, 8GB RAM, pop-up front and rear cameras

OPPO will introduce its flagship Find X smartphone at a global event in Paris, France later today. Now The Verge has posted hands-on impressions of the smartphone that reveals all the specifications. As rumoured, the phone features a pop-up front and rear cameras that are motorized, so it doesn’t have a notch for the 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen. It still has narrow bezels on the top for the earpiece. The phone also has 3D facial scanning system for biometric authentication, and will not come with a fingerprint sensor or 5x dual-camera zoom.

OPPO schedules an event in India on July 12, Find X with bezel-less display expected

OPPO is all set to introduce its flagship Find X smartphone at a global event in Paris, France later today. The company has sent out invites for the launch of a smartphone in India on July 12. Even though the invite doesn’t say that it will be the Find X, the caption “Find what you have have been looking for until now” hints at the launch of the next-generation Find series smartphone.

Google is planning on fixing a bug on Chromecast TV streaming stick and Home that reveals user’s location. This bug lets a website collect precise user location data, according to a report from security reporter Brian Krebs. This bug exploits a loophole in Google’s systems to cross-check a list of nearby wireless networks with Google’s precise geolocation look-up services. Google India just announced the launch of an extensive training network for journalists in India as a part of  Google News Initiative. This will provide training to 8000 journalists in English and six other Indian languages in the next one year.

Samsung is planning to develop its own GPUs for mobile devices, self-driving cars

Samsung is already making its own Exyons SoCs for its smartphones that are sold outside the U.S. however these CPUs ARM Mali GPUs. Now a job listing for Samsung SARC, its R&D center in Austin, Texas and ACL (Advanced Computing Lab) in San Jose reveals that Samsung is looking to make its own GPUs, starting from its budget phones, but it also plans to develop GPUs for autonomous driving, deep and machine learning.
