Samsung introduced its flagship Galaxy Note20 and Note20 Ultra smartphones last week, and it started taking pre-orders for the phones from August 6th in India across online and offline platforms and also announced several offers. Today the company has announced that pre-booking notifications for the series have hit 5 lakh in India, which is twice that of the last year’s Galaxy Note10 series. Realme introduced its V5 smartphone in the new V series in China last week, now two new 5G smartphones with the model numbers RMX2176 and RMX2200 have been certified by TENAA in China. The RMX2176 will be a mid-range smartphone with a 6.43-inch AMOLED punch-hole screen, possibly with 90Hz refresh rate, is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 765G, up to 8GB of RAM, and packs a 4300mAh battery with 50W or 65W fast charging. Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 9 in the country last month. To recall, the device features a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD, is powered MediaTek Helio G85 12nm SoC with up to 6GB of RAM, and runs Android 10 based MIUI 11. Xiaomi has already unveiled the latest iteration of its proprietary Android skin MIUI, dubbed MIUI 12 Global back in May, though the company is yet to formally announce MIUI 12 for India.

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphone in India back in February last year running MIUI 10.2 Global Stable on top of Android 9.0 (Pie). The smartphone has already started receiving Android 10 update along with MIUI 12 in India, but limited to Pilot testers only for now. Redmi Note series devices usually have a great custom ROM development, and Redmi Note 7 series is no exception to the family.
Oxygen OS is amongst popular Android skin that offers smooth experience along with a decent amount of customizations without much bloatware. A couple of months ago, we had tried Android 10 based Oxygen OS ported ROM on our Redmi Note 7 (lavender). Recently developers ported Android 10 based Oxygen OS to Redmi Note 7 Pro (Violet), we tried it on our unit and here is our review of the same.

OnePlus’s newest budget phone, the OnePlus Nord, was released last month, and they have just announced a new OxygenOS OTA update, taking the version number to 10.5.4. Samsung has announced the launch of a new private mode feature for Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 users, called AltZLife, that will let users quickly switch between normal mode and private mode (via Secure Folder) on their smartphone. AltZLife is a solution created by Samsung’s “Make for India” initiative, and it contains two features — Quick Switch and Content Suggestions.
