Samsung invests 70 million USD in Noida Mobile Manufacturing Facility

Samsung Electronics has just made an announcement that it’s investing USD 70 million  in the Noida mobile manufacturing facility. Seems like India is one of the top 3 mobile markets for Samsung globally.This facility in Noida is Samsung’s 6th manufacturing unit outside Korea and employs over 4000 people. This facility in Noida is also capable of handling TVs , Refrigerators , ACs and Washing Machines in addition to mobile phones. Surprisingly Samsung also has a manufacturing facility in Sriperumbudur , Chennai where Nokia also has a pretty big factory. Press Release after the break .

Exclusive : Micromax A85 Photo

An Anonymous tipster just sent us this image of the rumoured Micromax A85 which is expected to be Micromax’s first high-end device. The device is the photo we received looks much more attractive than the one we saw in the earlier leak. As excepted , it is running on Android and expected to be powered by a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 CPU and support HSDPA and WiFi networks.

Philips Xenium X806 Dual SIM Phone launching in India on Sep 7

Heard of Philips Mobile Phones ? They were available quite a while ago and we have not heard from them in a while now. The Xenium range of phones are popular in Europe and Russia for their exceptional battery life. Looks like the company is making a comeback into India or at least testing the waters again as we got an invited to a launch event happening on September 7th.Interestingly the invite comes from Conplex Telecom India. From the looks of the phone in the invite we are placing our bets on the Xenium X806 which is a Dual SIM phone with 1 month standby time and around 8 hours of talk time. Micromax is now 12th largest phone maker globally according to Strategy Analytics


Micromax which started off its operations in India is very popular for it’s Dual SIM phones and innovative ad campaigns. The company has been expanding globally and recently ventured into Brazil. The handset maker has a presence in Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri-Lanka, Maldives, UAE, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Afghanistan. The company has achieved a 1% of the global handset market according to the Global Handset Vendor Marketshare  report from research firm Strategy Analytics.

Samsung Galaxy Note Specs – 5.3 inch display and 1.4 GHz Dual Core CPU !



Samsung just sent a chill down our spine by launching the Samsung Galaxy Note- an Android Phone with a 5.3 inch display ! If you thought the Galaxy S2 had a big display ? Get ready for a bigger display. I’m not sure how many of us can grip a 5.3 inch phone in one hand ! The specs seem pretty impressive with a 1.4 GHz Dual Core Processor , 5.3 inch HD SuperAMOLED Plus display (1280×960 pixels resolution) and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread.  There is a 8MP camera on the back and a 2MP camera on the front. It weighs 100grams and  is 12.3mm thick. And it comes with a pen called S Pen so that you can scribble on the mini football ground in your hands ! Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab 7.7 at IFA in Berlin and we have got hold of the specs of this impressive tablet. It’s the first tablet to feature the iconic Super AMOLED Plus display and it packs a 1.4 GHz Dual Core CPU. It supports HSPA+ networks upto 21Mbps. Estimated delivery time is 5 days . The MRP of this device is Rs.36200. Flipkart also promises a free sling bag along with the order.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Revealed in Photos

The folks at SammyHub have posted the first photos of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 which seems like a 7.7 inch Android  Honeycomb tablet. From what we can see , it runs on Android Honeycomb , sports a 7.7 inch display with no physical menu keys and includes a 3.5 mm audio jack on the top. Photo Sharing through NFC in Nokia Symbian Belle Phones

We had the chance to check out the NFC feature in the newly announced Symbian Belle Phones. You can transfer photos from one phone to another by merely tapping the phones together.  Watch the video below to see the technology in action. In the first part of the video a photo is clicked with a Nokia 600 and is sent to another device via NFC or Near Field Communication.  In the second part a wallpaper is shared in a similar fashion.

While I was walking down the buzzing streets of Hong Kong , I came across a rather interesting banner talking about the World’s First 4G LTE Service from HK CSL a Hong Kong Mobile Operator which is a subsidiary Telstra Corporation Limited , Australia . 1010 is the premium brand of CSL offering mobile broadband services. CSL had launched the world’s first LTE/DC-HSPA+ network in 2010 and we got to test the service at a 1010 store in Hong Kong. HTC EVO 3D launching in India today

HTC is all set to launch it’s 3D smartphone the EVO 3D in India today at a price close to Rs.35000 undercutting the LG Optimus 3D which was launched last week for Rs.37000. We had a chance to play with the EVO 3D and the hardware felt impressive and has a 2D/3D camera toggle key.This is the 2nd glasses-free 3D phone to be launched in India. BlackBerry Torch 9810 launched in India for Rs.29990

The BlackBerry Torch 2 (9810) has been launched in India within a month of the official launch in UK. The launch of the BlackBerry 9810 comes close on the heels of  the Bold 9900 launch. The 9810 is the successor to the Torch 9800 and packs a 1.2 GHz processor and runs on the new BlackBerry OS 7. The Torch 2 is priced at Rs.29990 , slightly lower than the Bold 9900.
