HUAWEI Kirin 810 7nm Octa-Core SoC with Mali-G52 GPU, DaVinci NPU announced

HUAWEI just introduced Kirin 810 SoC, successor of last year’s Kirin 710 that powers several mid-range smartphones. It also detailed some features of the processor. It uses 7nm processor technology, similar to the Kirin 980 flagship SoC, and the first for a mid-range SoC. This has two ARM Cortex-A76 bigger cores clocked at 2.27GHz and the other siz smaller ARM Cortex-A55 cores are clocked at 1.88GHz. It has ARM Mali-G52 MP6 GPU, which has a 162% performance improvement over the previous generation and supports Kirin Gaming+ technology. Google is getting out of tablet business, to focus on Pixelbook laptop

Google has officially confirmed that it is getting out of tablet business. Even though the company had two smaller-sized tablets under development, it will not release them. The company introduced Pixel Slate back in October last year along with the Pixel 3 phones. Before that the company had introduced Pixel C tablet back in 2015, which was discontinued in 2017. At that time the company said that it will focus on Pixelbook.

Vivo shows off 120W FlashCharge fast charging that can charge a phone fully in 13 minutes

Vivo has been using Dual-Engine fast charging on its smartphones. Its latest iQOO gaming phone featured 44W ultra-fast flash charge that lets you charge a phone with 4000mAh battery from 0 to 50% in 15 minutes, to 85% in 30 minutes, and 100% in 45 minutes. Now the company has showcased its new 120W FlashCharge technology that will let you charge a phone with a 4000mAh battery from 0 to 50% in 5 minutes and from 0 to 100% in just 13 minutes.

Apple looking to move up to 30% of production out of China: Report

As a result of U.S.-China trade dispute, Apple is said to have asked its suppliers to evaluate the cost implications of shifting 15 to 30% of their production capacity from China to Southeast Asia countries, as it prepares for ‘fundamental restructuring of its supply chain’, according to a new report. 90% of Apple’s products are being assembled in China.

Motorola One Pro with quad rear cameras, in-display fingerprint sensor surfaces

After CAD renders of a Motorola smartphone surfaced back in April, press renders of the Motorola One Pro, the company’s upcoming Android One smartphone has surfaced. This shows four cameras arranged in a square, a waterdrop notch screen and a 3.5mm audio jack on the bottom. Next to the camera there is a dual-tone LED flash, and a small text that mentions 1.6μm quad pixel, so it should feature a 48-megapixel sensor. It also mentions Dual OIS. Other camera details haven’t been revealed yet.

It has a 6.46-inch Full HD+ no-notch LCD screen with narrow bezels and 92% screen-to-body ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection, is powered by Snapdragon 855 with up to 8GB of RAM, runs stock Android 9.0 (Pie) with ZenUI 6 with updates for Android Q and R in the future, and features a motorized flip camera with 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 with Quad Bayer technology for 12MP effective images, along with a 13-megapixel 125-degree ultra-wide lens so that you can use it as both front and rear cameras, and the flip mechanism can be used in 90-degree position. You can also shoot 180-degree Panorama shots.

Xiaomi Mi CC9 with 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, triple rear cameras, in-display fingerprint sensor gets certified

A new Xiaomi smartphone with the model number M1904F3BC has been certified by TENAA in China. This is said to be released as Mi CC9, and is expected to be launched in collaboration with Meitu that it acquired last year. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun today confirmed that they are working on a smartphone with Meitu team codenamed ‘Little Fairy’, so this could the phone.

MIUI launcher is finally getting an app drawer and app shortcuts

Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO launched its own POCO Launcher last year with support for app drawer, now the company has started testing alpha version of its own MIUI launcher for its Mi and Redmi smartphones in China that will bring the app drawer. This will also finally bring app shortcuts allow users to launch any specific part of the app to perform certain key tasks, directly from home screen. Revolt RV 400 India’s first fully electric AI-enabled bike announced

Revolt Motors today announced RV 400, which is India’s first fully electric  AI-enabled motorcycle. Former Micromax CEO Rahul Sharma is the Founder and Chief Revolutionary Officer of the company. At the launch event he shared details about several partners including BOSCH, Amazon for online orders, MRF for the tyres, Airtel for connectivity, Google, ATL for the battery, SOCO for designing the bike, QSMOTOR and more. The company says that the bike will offer up to 85km/h speed and a single charge will offer up to 156km distance.

Facebook to launch Libra cryptocurrency in 2020

Facebook just announced its plans to launch Libra, a new global currency powered by blockchain technology in 2020. It will be available as a standalone app and also support payments in Messenger and WhatsApp. Facebook subsidiary Calibra digital wallet will let you send Libra to others using an app instantly. It will eventually introduce several services such as paying bills instantly, scan a code to buy things and use it to pay for local public transit.
