Spice Mi-270 becomes the cheapest Android phone in India at Rs. 3399

Spice Mi-270 has seen a major price cut and is now available in India for Rs. 3399 . This makes it the cheapest Dual SIM Android phone in the market till date. It was launched last year for Rs. 6499. This has Dual-SIM support with standby and has 2.8-inch (240 x 320 pixels ) resistive touch screen display, 416MHz processor, 2MP camera and runs on Android v2.2 (Froyo). Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro price drops to Rs. 19999


Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro has seen a price drop in India, which is now available for Rs. 19,999. The Xperia Pro is a QWERTY slider phone which was unveiled at MWC 2011 earlier this year and Sony Ericsson launched the Xperia Pro in India last October for Rs. 24,000. It features a 3.7 inch (854 x 480 Pixels) touchscreen display and full slide out QWERTY keypad. It packs a 8.1 MP camera with LED Flash and secondary VGA camera on the back. BSNL unlimited 3G is back but with 5GB limit in Chennai

BSNL has launched an unlimited 3G plan for pre-paid and post-paid customers in Chennai. This offers speed up to 3.6 Mbps till 5GB, and after that speed would be throttled to 100 Kbps. They offered 3G unlimited iPad plans few months back but stopped it suddenly. This is not a lot but you get unlimited usage even after the 3G data limit. Samsung has announced 2 new touch screen phones, Star 3 and Star 3 DUOS that is the successor of Samsung Star, Star Duos and Star 2 phones. These phones come with 3-inch (320 x 240 pixels) TFT LCD touch screen and 3.2 Megapixel Fixed Focus camera. Wikipedia app now available for Android

Wikipedia app is finally available for Android. This would let the users search articles nearby, share articles using Android Share function, read article in a different language and more. TRAI asks operators to publish tariff plans regularly


The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has announced that all Telecom service providers should publish their Tariff Plan details regularly to let the customers know about the changes. They should also publish the tariff details in at least one Newspaper of regional language and one English newspaper at an interval not more than 6 months. BSNL launches Trust Card in partnership with Itz cash card


BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.), in partnership with Itz Cash Card Ltd., has launched TRUST Card, a co-branded multi service prepaid card in India as they announced last year. This is a semi-closed card that would let the card holders pay postpaid bill, prepaid top ups and other utility bills easily. Motorola DEFY MINI up for pre-order in UK for £174.99


Motorola announced the DEFY MINI, rugged Android phone earlier this month. Clove UK has announced that it is available for pre-order and would ship at the end of February or early March. The DEFY MINI is Dustproof and water-resistant and has 3.2-inch touchscreen Corning GorillaGlass display, 600MHz processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). Nokia, Airtel still rank as top trusted brands in India

Nokia has been voted as India’s Most Trusted Brand again and retains their first position from the last year according to a recent survey conducted by research firm Trust Research Advisory (TRA). In the telecom sector, Airtel leads by retaining the same 9th spot as last year. The Brand Trust Report, India Study, 2012 (BTR 2012) has listed India’s 1000 Most Trusted Brands and this research was conducted among 2718 ‘influencer’ respondents across 15 cities. LG has announced their first LTE tablet, LG Optimus Pad LTE that features a 8.9-inch ( 1280 x 768 pixels) True HD IPS in Korea. It is powered by 1.5 GHz Qualcomm dual-core / dual channel processor and runs on Android 3.2 (Honeycomb). It has 8MP camera with Full HD video recording, flash and BIS sensor, 2MP front facing camera. It is 9.34mm thick and weighs 479g. Motorola DEFY+ JCB Edition launched in UK

Motorola has launched the JCB Edition of the DEFY+, rugged Android phone. They announced the DEFY+ last August and launched last September. This JDB edition has visco-elastic protective sleeve from JCB that are capable to withstand extremely demanding conditions and rugged outdoors.
