IDC: Mobile Phone Market Q4 2011 – Nokia, Samsung and Apple top mobile phone vendors by shipments


Nokia, Samsung and Apple are the leading Mobile vendors by shipments in Q4 2011 and for the whole 2011, according to a report by Research Firm IDC (International Data Corporation). The worldwide mobile phone market grew 6.1% year over year in the Q4 2011 with shipments of 427.4 million which is 6.1% more compared to 402.8 million units in the Q4 2010. Samsung Galaxy S3 not launching at MWC 2012


Samsung said that they will not launch the Galaxy S3 at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012 in a statement issued to TechRadar. New image of the BlackBerry 10 smartphone code-named London has surfaced. According to Crackberry, this is called Superphone. RIM’s 2012 roadmap leaked last week that showed that the first BlackBerry 10 smartphone might be pushed from Q3 to October 2012 . This new phone is a lot different from the dummy model of the London that surfaced last November and looks like a scaled down version of the BlackBerry PlayBook.
