It boasts multiple new technologies that Qualcomm claims to give the newer platform 2x the CPU and GPU performance, 4x more video bandwidth, 6x higher resolution and 11x AI improvement over the precious XR platform.

Xiaomi and Oculus at the CES 2018 announced that they are working on two standalone VR headsets – Oculus Go and Xiaomi Mi VR Standalone that will be built by Xiaomi and will be powered the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 Mobile VR Platform. These don’t require cable, external sensors, or a mobile phone.

Samsung announced its first Gear VR headset with controller powered by Oculus at its Mobile World Congress press conference in Barcelona. Today, at its Galaxy S8 unpacked event, the company has announced the pricing and the availability details of the product.
