Vivo S9 with 6.44-inch FHD+ AMOLED 90Hz display, Dimensity 1100, 44MP + 8MP dual front cameras and S9e announced

Vivo just announced S9, the company’s latest smartphone in the S series in China, as it had promised. It packs a 6.44-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, up to 1300 nits brightness and 91.04% screen-to-body ratio, thanks to narrow borders, is the first smartphone to be powered by  the latest MediaTek Dimensity 1100 6nm processor with support for 5G SA/NSA, VC cooling which is 30% bigger and the heat dissipation area is increased by 136% compared with the previous generation. The phone packs up to 12GB of RAM, 64MP rear camera, 8MP ultra wide-angle camera along with a 2MP mono camera. DJI FPV drone with 140 kmph speed, 4K 60fps recording, first-person operating view capabilities announced

DJI, leaders in the commercial drone industry, has announced the launch of their newest FPV drone, capable of first-person view operation and high-speed performance. The drone uses their proprietary OcuSync 3.0 technology along with their HD transmission technology, enable pilots to view at up to 1440×810p 120 fps, with latencies as low as 28ms.

Meizu 18 and 18 Pro with 6.2 / 6.7-inch Quad HD+ 120Hz AMOLED curved display, Snapdragon 888, up to 12GB RAM announced

Meizu just announced 18 and 18 Pro at an event in China. The Meizu 18 and 18Pro pack a 6.2 / 6.7-inch Quad HD+  E4 AMOLED curved screen from Samsung with 120Hz refresh screen, 240Hz touch sampling rate and  ultra-narrow bezel. The punch-hole houses a 20MP front camera for the 18 and the 18 Pro has a 44MP front camera. These are powered by Snapdragon 888 with 5G SA/NSA support. The X-axis linear motor is larger than the previous generation, and the area under the screen supports pressure sensitivity, which can be used for the new mBack gesture operation. MediaTek MT9638 4K TV SoC with MEMC, AI-enhanced super resolution, Dolby Atmos and more

MediaTel just announced MT9638, the company latest 4K smart TV chip integrated with AI super resolution, AI picture quality and AI voice assistants along with variable refresh rate (VRR) and MEMC (motion estimation and motion compensation) features.

The MT9638 combines a high performance, multi-core CPU and APU (AI processing unit), wide memory bus, modern GPU, and a number of images and audio enhancement tools. With built-in AI picture quality technology, the chip enables real-time content and scene recognition, automatically adjusting color saturation, brightness, sharpness, dynamic motion compensation and smart noise reduction to improve overall image quality.

MediaTek’s AI super resolution technology, combined with the company’s MEMC technology, intelligently upscales resolution through multi-frame blending to deliver clearer images at the smart TV’s native resolution.

The chip supports Wi-Fi 6 for fast, reliable connectivity and HDMI 2.1, which integrates support for VRR, and it also supports applications powered by AI voice recognition and AI-enabled video calls.

MediaTek’s MT9638 supports multiple advanced technologies:

  • Up to 1.5GHz  multi-core ARM Cortex-A55 CPU, Arm Mali-G52 MC1 GPU and dedicated MediaTek APU
  • Up to 4K60 resolution support with a multimedia decoding engine for HEVC, VP9 and the latest AV1 content.
  • HDR10+ display support, enabling full array backlight local dimming with up to 2304 backlight dimming zones
  • Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual X surround sound support.
  • HDMI 2.1a and USB 3.0 interfaces, in addition to gigabit-class Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.
  • Up to four far-field microphones offer whole room coverage for voice assistants with ultra-low power consumption (0.5W) on standby and ultra-fast, one second resume for wake-up words.

MediaTek MT9638-powered 4K smart TVs are expected to roll out in Q2 2021.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A32, the company’s latest mid-range 4G smartphone after it India as it had promised. It packs a 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with 90Hz refresh rate, is powered by MediaTek Helio G80 SoC with 6GB of RAM. It runs Android 11 with One UI 3 packs quad rear cameras that include 64MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera 5MP macro camera, and 5MP depth of field camera for live focus and a 20MP front camera. Telecom Spectrum Auction 2021: Reliance Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea win spectrum as auction raises Rs. 77814 crore for Govt

The Department of Telecom (DoT) has announced the winners in the 2021 spectrum auction in various circles that ended after 2 days. At the end of the auction government got bids worth Rs. 77,814.80 core with Rs. 77,146 raised on the first day after four rounds and Rs 668.20 crore raised in the two rounds on the second day. This substantially exceeded pre-bid estimates of Rs. 45,000 crore.  Bharti Airtel Ltd, Vodafone Idea, and Reliance Jio took part in the auction.
