Asus MeMO Pad 7-inch tablet running Android 4.1 announced

Asus has announced the MeMo Pad, their new affordable 7-inch tablet after the CES 2013. The Asus MeMO Pad has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), similar to the Acer Iconia B1-A71 that was announced at CES last week, but this tablet is powered by a 1GHz WonderMedia PRIZM WM8950 processor instead of a dual-core Mediatek processor. It has a 1MP front-facing camera with BSI sensor, 720p HD video capture at 30 fps. It has non-slip diamond-patterned finish at the back. Exynos 5 Octa by Samsung reportedly features PowerVR SGX 544MP3
Samsung announced this CES the Exynos 5 Octa which has 4 ARM Cortex A15 cores and 4 ARM Cortex A7 cores for power management with whats called as Big little configuration. Now Samsung is known to boast their GPUs, but during their Octa announcement, they did not talk about the GPU they were using and Anandtech is now reporting that Samsung is using the PowerVR SGX 544MP3 GPU at 533 MHz.

Samsung Galaxy S series smartphone sales surpass 100 million units globally

Samsung has announced that the combined sales (supply chain) of the Samsung Galaxy S, the Galaxy S2 and the Galaxy S3 has crossed 100 million globally. The combined sales of the Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy S2 crossed 50 million back in June 2012. The Samsung Galaxy S was introduced back in May 2010, and it took 2 years and 7 months for the S series phones to reach 100 million sales mark. Lava has launched Iris N501, new Android Smartphone in the Iris range. It has a 5-inch (480 × 800 pixels) display and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 5MP rear camera with LED Flash and a 0.3MP front-facing camera for video calling. It has Dual SIM support similar to the other Iris smartphones. This would compete with other budget 5-inch Dual SIM Smartphones such as Micromax A110, iBall Andi 5c, Spice Stellar Horizon, Zync Z5 Cloud and the Intex Aqua 5.0.

Huawei unveils UltraStick E3331 world’s smallest 3G Data Card

Huawei has unveiled UltraStick E3331, the world’s smallest 3G data card at the CES 2013. Huawei’s latest data card is pretty thin at 7mm, measures 67.5 mm long and 25.5 mm wide. This data card beats its predecessor, Huawei E369, that held the position of the world’s smallest data card that was 8mm thick. The UltraStick E3331 might be the smallest 3G data card, but the Option XYFI that launched last year at MWC 2012 is still the world’s smallest 3G Wi-Fi hotspot. Nokia Lumia 620 launched in India, no word on the pricing yet

At a press conference in New Delhi, Nokia has launched the much awaited mid end Windows Phone 8 Lumia 620 in India. Nokia had announced the Lumia 620 at the Le Web Conference in Paris last month, and it was the first affordable Windows Phone 8 device from Nokia. The device, with pretty great specs for a mid end device was a surprise announcement at Le Web, and comes with sweet dual coloured polycarbonate variations. It was revealed to the world by Marko Ahtisaari, the principal design head of Nokia.
