Google has rolled out two Gmail updates for personal accounts worldwide: a consolidated purchase tracking view and an enhanced Promotions tab. These features aim to simplify delivery tracking and improve visibility of relevant promotional emails, said Chris Doan, Director of Gmail.
Purchase Tracking View
Gmail is introducing a new purchase tracking view that consolidates all purchase and delivery updates in a single interface. Users can now see a streamlined list of upcoming package deliveries, providing a comprehensive overview of all purchase-related emails.

Doan explained that packages scheduled to arrive within 24 hours will continue to appear at the top of the primary inbox and in a summary card within purchase emails. This new view does not replace existing notifications but provides an organized interface to track all purchases and deliveries efficiently.
Promotions Tab Enhancements
Gmail’s Promotions category is being updated to improve sorting and relevance. Users will soon have the option to sort emails by “most relevant”, making it easier to prioritize messages from frequently interacted senders and brands.

Chris Doan noted that Gmail will also include nudges to highlight upcoming deals and timely offers, helping users identify important promotions. Users who prefer the current setup can continue to sort emails by “most recent” instead of relevance.
Availability
Both updates are gradually rolling out on mobile and web over the coming weeks for users with personal Google accounts worldwide.
Speaking about the launch, Chris Doan, Director, Gmail, said:
There’s a lot to manage in your everyday life, and as we head back to school and into the busy holiday months, we hope these updates create an even more personalized, helpful inbox experience.
