OPPO just launched the F31 series in India, and here we have the unboxing and the first impressions of the F31 Pro+ 5G, the top-end phone in the series.

The OPPO F31 Pro+ 5G features a 6.8-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen from BOE with 120Hz refresh rate. Since it has up to 1600 nits peak brightness, the screen is bright even outdoors. It uses 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming to reduce flicker, especially at low brightness levels, minimizing eye strain during prolonged use. There is AGC DT-Star D+ glass protection for the screen.
It has an 32-megapixel camera in the centre. The earpiece is present on the top edge that doubles up as a secondary speaker. OPPO’s Splash Touch technology ensures that the screen remains functional even when used with wet hands.
The phone has minimal bezels below the display. It has an in-display optical fingerprint scanner.
Powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, the phone has up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM with up to 12GB of virtual RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It runs Android 15 with ColorOS 15 and will receive two OS updates and three years of security updates.
It has 5,219 mm² vapor chamber, which is 856 mm² larger than the previous generation for improved thermal dissipation. The phone also has NetworkBoost Chip S1.
The power button and the volume rockers are present on the right. The dual SIM slot, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the speaker grill are crammed in the bottom. The secondary microphone is on the top along with the IR blaster.
The phone has dual rear camera that includes a 50MP main camera and a 2MP secondary portrait sensor. It has up to 4K video recording support with both the front and rear cameras. Check out some camera samples.
The phone has 360° Damage-Proof Armour Body MIL-STD-810H certification that makes the phone 5G highly durable and resilient. The F31 Pro+ 5G also offers IP69, IP68, and IP66 ratings for protection against dust, and water.
The Gemstone Blue version that we have has a rich, elegant blue that draws from the strength of gemstones. Its smooth surface captures the depth of
polished sapphire, shifting gently with the light sophisticated, enduring, and confidently modern, said the company. It also comes in Himalayan White and Festive Pink colours.
The phone packs a huge, 7000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC charging that can charge up to 14% in 5mins, 58% in 30 minutes, and 100% in 61 minutes. The battery can maintain over 80% of its original capacity after 1,700 charge cycles, equivalent to over 5 years of use if charged once daily, according to the company.
The OPPO F31 Pro+ starts at Rs. 32,999 and is already available to pre-order from Amazon.in, Flipkart, OPPO India online stores and offline stores and will be available starting from September 20th.
