Xiaomi is all set to introduce its new Redmi smartphone at an event in China today in a couple of hours. Ahead of the launch, the company introduced the new Redmi by Xiaomi logo yesterday, today the company’s has confirmed that the phone will be called the Redmi Note 7 and the CEO Lei Jun has announced the appointment of Lu Weibing as the president of the new Redmi brand and vice president of Xiaomi.
Lexar, popular for its flash memory solutions has introduced new Lexar Professional 633x SDXC UHS-I card with whopping 1 terabyte (1TB) of memory. It has also expanded its internal Solid-State Drive (SSD) portfolio with the its M.2 NM series; featuring a traditional SATA III (6Gb/s) SSD (NM200), plus more advanced solutions with NVMe performance (NM500, NM520, NM600) for entry-level to PC enthusiasts.

Withings, popular for its digital health products and services has introduced new Move ECG analog watch which it says is the world’s first analog watch to record an electrocardiogram (ECG) on-demand to monitor cardiovascular health and detect heart conditions such as atrial fibrillation (AFib). It has also introduced the standard Move without ECG and up to 18 months of battery life. Xolo, at an event in Delhi officially launched the Era 4X budget smartphone. It also introduced the Era 5X, which the company says is a budget selfie smartphone with a 13-megapixel front camera with LED flash and AI studio mode with sudio lighting modes like the iPhone. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera, ha a 5.7-inch HD+ screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection. It is powered by MediaTek Helio A22 12nm Quad-Core SoC and has Dual plate graphite layer to reduce heat.

At CES 2019, Google has introduced a preview of Google Assistant Connect which is a platform for device manufacturers to bring the Google Assistant into their products in an easy-to-implement way. Google also announced that it is bringing the Assistant to the Sonos One and Sonos Beam. Google said that it is working with even more brands to launch new smart home devices this year, including select Whirlpool connected appliances, GE’s smart microwave, and August security products. Lenovo and Google at CES 2019 have unveiled the Lenovo Smart Clock with the Google Assistant. The company says that the Smart Clock lets you control your smart home and listen to your favorite music with multi-room audio grouping. The Lenovo Smart Clock supports voice and touch controls. OPPO has silently launched R15 Pro smartphone in India. It was originally introduced as R15 Dream Mirror Edition in China last year. It has a 6.28-inch FHD+ 19:9 aspect ratio OLED display with a notch with a 1.78mm narrow frame and 90% screen-to-body ratio. It calls it Super-V Display. It is powered by Snapdragon 660 SoC with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage.

LG Electronics has announced that it has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Microsoft to enhance and further grow LG’s autonomous vehicle and infotainment system business. Under this agreement, LG will accelerate the transformation of its existing digital platform for the vehicle industry, by leveraging Microsoft’s Azure cloud and artificial intelligence technologies along with LG’s future self-driving software.
