Airtel Foreign Pass International Roaming Voice Packs launched starting at Rs. 196

Airtel has launched new affordable international roaming voice packs, ‘Foreign Pass’, for prepaid customers in India starting at Rs. 196. These voice call packs are available for most popular travel destinations (UAE, Nepal, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, USA, Qatar, Kuwait, Malaysia, Singapore, United Kingdom, Srilanka, Bahrain, China, Canada, Germany, Australia, Hong Kong, France, Netherlands and Thailand) and offer calling minutes for local calls and outgoing calls to India. Rs. 196 pack offers 20 minutes, followed by Rs. 296 for 40 minutes and Rs. 446 for 75 mins.

POCO F1 Hands On and First Impressions

It’s safe to say that Xiaomi can be credited for kickstarting the whole affordable flagship trend with the launch of the Mi3 way back in 2014. There’s been ample competition since then with OnePlus standing out in particular as a success story. Enter POCO, an entire new sub-brand building on the strengths of Xiaomi. The POCO F1 is the first phone under this brand and like its namesake race, this is one screaming fast phone. Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO just launched the F1, the company’s first smartphone in India, as it had promised. It has a 6.18-inch Full HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with a notch, is powered by Snapdragon 845 with up to 8GB RAM and LiquidCool Technology. It runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with MIUI on top with POCO launcher, and the company has promised Android 9.0 (Pie) update in Q4 2018.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 officially launched in India starting at Rs. 67900

After taking pre-orders, Samsung has officially launched its flagship Galaxy Note9 smartphone, as it had promised. It comes with a 6.4-inch Quad HD+  Super AMOLED Display – an end-to-end, bezel-less screen that extends to the phone’s sides, similar to the Note8. Today it has launched 10.or D2, successor of the  10.or D that was launched last year. It has a 5.45-inch HD+ 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by Snapdragon 425 Mobile Platform, runs Android 8.1 (Oreo), has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel camera, both with LED flash, but it lacks a fingerprint sensor. Flipkart acquires AI speech-recognition startup Liv.ai

Flipkart has announced that it has acquired Liv.ai which is an AI-led speech-recognition startup that has developed a speech-to-text platform supporting 10 Indian languages. Apple said to be planning on opening flagship outlets in key locations in India to drive sales

With Apple plans to open its own Stores in India pending due to government’s approval, the company is seeking to open biggest franchisee outlets at key locations in metropolitan cities in India. According to a latest report, the 5-6 franchisee-run outlets will each be at least three times larger than the current, 1,000-square foot stores and may even go up to 5,000 square foot. Itel today launched three new smartphones – A22, A22 Pro and A45 in India. All these have 18:9 aspect ratio displays, while the A45 comes with a 5.45-inch HD+ display, has dual rear cameras and also features a fingerprint sensor on the back. The A22 series is powered by Snapdragon 210 SoC and the A45 is powered by MediaTek MT6739 SoC. The A22 and A45 run Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) and the A22 Pro runs Android 8.1 (Oreo).

It has a fingerprint sensor on the back and packs a 3700mAh battery. Along with the F9 Pro, OPPO also introduced the F9, a cheaper version in the ‘F series’ in India. Nokia 5.1 Plus with 5.86-inch 19:9 display, dual rear cameras, Android 8.1 announced in India, available in September

HMD Global just introduced the Nokia 5.1 Plus along with the Nokia 6.1 Plus in India.  Similar to the other Nokia phones, it is an Android One smartphone. It was introduced last month in China as X5 and packs a 5.86-inch HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio 2.5D curved glass display with 84% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by MediaTek Helio P60 12nm processor with 3GB of RAM, runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) OS, which is upgradable to Android P.

Nokia 6.1 Plus with 5.8-inch FHD+ 19:9 display, Snapdragon 636, dual rear cameras launched in India for Rs. 15999

HMD Global just launched the  Nokia 6.1 Plus, the global version of the Nokia X6 smartphone in India, as it had promised.  It was introduced for the global markets last month, starting from Hong Kong and packs a 5.8-inch FHD+ display with a notch and 19:9 aspect ratio, Snapdragon 636 with 4GB of RAM, Android 8.1 (Oreo),  16-megapixel rear camera with RGB sensor, 5-megapixel secondary rear camera with a monochrome sensor, AI portrait and scene recognition and a 16-megapixel front camera with AI selfies with background blur, stickers and face unlock.
