Micromax launched the Canvas Tab P650, the company’s first tablet in the Canvas series earlier this month at a price tag of Rs. 16,500, here we have the device. It has a 8-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) 4:3 display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8389 processor and runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean).

Celkon Mobiles has launched the AR45, the first RahmanIshq series phone at an event in Kolkata. The phone was launched by A.R. Rahman himself and it is the first ever 4D holographic launch in India. It has a 4.5-inch (480 x 854 pixels) display, powered by 1.2 GHz dual-core Cortex A7 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 9.9 mm thick slim design, comes with dual speakers with K-class amplifier and has a 5-megapixel rear camera. It also comes pre-loaded with AR Rahman’s chartbusters. Domo, popular for its PC peripherals, tablets and accessories has launched the DOMO Slate X3G 4th, successor of the Slate X3G 3rd. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz quad-core Cortex A7 processor with PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU. It runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and packs a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 3-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a SIM card slot for 3G connectivity and a ear piece for voice calling. The HTC Butterfly S is currently one of the costliest phones available in India. It is even costlier than the already costly Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Launched in India on September 4th with a hefty price tag of Rs. 52,428, the Butterfly S has finally landed in our labs for some extensive testing. We were surprised to see the box was actually from Hong Kong, so we took the box in front of a camera and unboxed it right away. Lenovo India has launched four new Android smartphones in the A Series. The A850 is a mid-range smartphone is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, while the other entry-level smartphones, A516, A369i and A269i are powered by dual-core processors. The A850 has a 5.5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) IPS display with wide 178 degree viewing angle, the A516 has a 4.5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) IPS display with wide 178 degree viewing angle and the Lenovo A369i has a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) display. All these smartphones come with dual SIM support.

The Lenovo A269i has a 3.5-inch display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and comes in black color. It is priced at Rs. 5,499. These new A Series smartphones would be available across India through Lenovo Exclusive Stores (LES), LFRs, leading multi-brand outlets and thedostore.com from October this year.
Nokia India introduced the Nokia Lumia Smart Buy Back offers on purchase of Lumia 620 and Lumia 520 smartphones last month. Now the offer has been extended to Lumia 925 and the Lumia 625. . In the Nokia Lumia Smart Buy Back offer users get Rs. 10000 discount on Lumia 925 and Rs. 7000 discount on Lumia 625, in exchange for old smartphones. LG has officially launched G2, the company’s latest flagship phone in India as they promised. The LG G2 was announced last month and packs a 5.2-inch (1920×1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display at 423 ppi, powered by a 2.26 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) processor with Adreno 330 GPU and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). It really is a testament to Moore’s law and the hyper-accelerated development of the mobile space that two year can lead to such immense differences between flagship devices in just 2 years. The Galaxy Nexus, announced in late 2011 was one of the first devices to feature a 720p display at a positively gigantic, (for the time) 4.65 inch display. It ticked every box in the spec sheet at the time, 1GB of RAM, the newest dual-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz and a competitive GPU for the time courtesy of the OMAP 4460 platform.

Now, just two years later, LG G2 is in almost every conceivable way twice the device the Galaxy Nexus was in a footprint barely 3mm larger in either width or length. Online retailer Flipkart has also listed the smartphone as coming soon. We did a comparison between the Snapdragon 600 and the Exynos 5 Octa 5410 for the Galaxy S4 back in May, here we have the Note 3 to compare the benchmarks of the Snapdragon 800 and the Exynos 5 Octa 5420, the latest high-end chips from both Qualcomm and Samsung. The Snapdragon 800 processor is clocked at 2.3 GHz. The Exynos version uses Samsung’s ARM big.LITTLE architecture with fours Cortex A15 chips clocked at 1.9 GHz and four Cortex A7 chips running at 1.3 GHz. The Exnos 5 Octa chip has a ARM Mail T628 GPU instead of PowerVR SGX544MP3 GPU present in the Exynos 5410. The Snapdragon 600 chip has a Adreno 330 GPU, faster than the Adreno 320 present in the S4. Let’s see how these two phones perform in various benchmark tests.

Google Nexus 7 was launched in India quite late and went for sale at Rs. 15,999 for the 16GB WiFi version. Around a couple of months back, Google announced their second version of Nexus 7 as the Google Nexus 7 2013 with an upgraded processor and a much better display. Earlier in July, just after the announcement of new Nexus 7, Amazon had slashed the price of Nexus 7 to Rs. 11,999 for the 16GB version.Now, Amazon and Flipkart, two popular giants of India’s eCommerce market slashed the price of original Nexus 7 to just Rs. 9,999 for the 16GB version.
Gionee, popular Chinese mobile device design company entered into the Indian market back in March with the Dream D1. Now the company has launched several Android smartphones. The latest flagship smartphone is the Elife E5, that was launched back in July. The Elife E5 is the second phone in the Elife series.
