Microsoft unveils Windows Phone 8

Microsoft has officially unveiled the Windows Phone 8 at an event in San Francisco as they announced earlier this month. They announced the Windows Phone 8 back in June, but at the yesterday’s launch event they demoed several features including new features such as Kid’s Corner, Rooms in People’s Hub and automatic image uploads from the phone’s camera. Lava IRIS N350 Dual SIM Android Smartphone launched for Rs. 5499

Lava has launched IRIS N350, their new Dual SIM Android Smartphone powered by a 1GHz processor. It has a 3.5 inch (320 x 480 pixels) Capacitive multi-touch display and runs on Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread). It has a 2 Megapixel camera at the back and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera. Scott Forstall leaving Apple next year, Jony Ive to lead Human Interface

In a huge management rejig today , Apple announced a lot of changes to the company leadership. Long time Apple employee Scott Forstall who is SVP of iOS  software is leaving Apple after 15 years next year and will be an advisor to CEO Tim Cook in the interim period. John Browett SVP of Retail is also leaving the company after barely 6 months.

Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 launching in India in November

Nokia just announced today that it has begun shipping its first Windows Phone 8 devices in select markets to operators and retail outlets and it will go on sale in UK and France later this week.Russia and Germany would be getting the Lumia 920 and 820 after that.  Several other countries including India will see the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 being launched sometime in November ( no exact date or price yet). The Lumia 920 packs an awesome camera with optical image stabilization and a pure motion hd+ display apart and runs on Windows Phone 8. LG and Google announce the Nexus 4

Google had canceled the New York Android event due to Hurricane Sandy but the hurricane could not stop them from officially announcing the devices.Google and LG have finally officially unveiled the next Nexus phone which is from LG this time round -Nexus 4. The handset has been leaked multiple times and was reportedly lost in in a bar. The Nexus 4 looks  very similar to the previous Nexus devices from the front but very different in the back.The Nexus 4 was jointly designed by LG and Google. Nokia Lumia 822 announced, coming exclusively to Verizon this fall

Nokia has finally announced the Lumia 822, their new Windows Phone 8 device exclusive for Verizon Wireless. It surfaced earlier this month as Nokia Atlas and has similar features as the 820 including a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) AMOLED  ClearBlack display, 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and Windows Phone 8 OS. Unlike the 820, this phone has a curved design. It would support Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

Google has cancelled today’s Android event due to bad weather

Google was supposed to host an event in New York City today to show off the new LG Nexus 4, the Samsung made Nexus 10, Android 4.2, and a few other cool things, but they’ve just announced that the event has been cancelled. In case you haven’t been keeping up with the news, the biggest storm America’s east coast has ever seen is set to hit several states during the next 48 hours. Over 375,000 people have already been evacuated from Manhattan, the New York Stock exchange has shut down, the public transportation has been turned off, basically the city is preparing for the worst. HTC starts pushing out Android 4.1 to the One X in Europe and Asia

HTC’s 2012 flagship device, the quad core One X, is now getting upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean according to reports from Android and Me. The updates weighs in at just over 350 MB, so you’re going to want to make sure you’re connected to a high speed WiFi network. Besides Android 4.1, there’s also the latest version of Sense, which comes with an “infinite” number of home screens, the ability to password protect your SMS inbox, and small tweaks here and there that allegedly make the device 10% faster. LG Optimus G Benchmarks – quad-core Snapdragon S4 CPU and Adreno 320 GPU

LG announced the Optimus G in August, which went on sale in Korea in September. We managed to get hold of the device to run some benchmarks.The LG Optimus G was in a close competition with the Samsung Galaxy Note II in most of the benchmarks but it was a clear winner when compared to the other quad-core devices including Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One X and the LG Optimus 4X HD. Airtel starts taking Pre-Orders for iPhone 5 in India, priced at Rs.45500 for 16GB

Airtel  which is one of the leading mobile operators in India has started taking Pre-Orders for the Apple iPhone 5 on its website. Airtel is promoting the iPhone 5 on its homepage and has requested interested customers to pre-order the device. The date of availability is mentioned as November 11th 2012 which is a good 10 days later than the previous November 2nd date we have been hearing from distributors.The prices seem to be exactly the same as what we had heard prior to this.

We just told you few hours back that the iPhone 5 was coming to India on November 2nd and also told about the prices at which the iPhone 5 will be selling for in India starting from Rs.45500 for the 16GB model.And now as expected Aircel has starting teasing the iPhone 5 on it’s website. The operator has a coming soon banner for the iPhone 5 on its homepage.Aircel along with Airtel were the official launch partners for the iPhone 4S in India last year.This year though Apple has appointed 2 distributors Ingram Micro and Redington for selling the iPhone 5 in India

Apple iPhone 5 Prices for India surface, starts at Rs.45500

Looks like Apple is gearing up to launch the iPhone 5 in India soon. Multiple retailers have started to announce the prices for the latest iPhone.The iPhone 5 might start retailing at Rs.45,500 for the 16GB model. Both White and Black versions of the phone are expected to go on sale. But still stocks are extremely limited considering the global demand for the device. Apple had reportedly appointed Ingram Micro and Redington as distributors for the iPhone 5. This was partially confirmed today as we got a press release from Ingram Micro about the same indicating a November 2nd release and now there is a link to a webpage containing the Redington logo which has popped up.

GTA Vice City coming to select Android and iOS devices this fall

Rockstar Games is celebrating their 10th anniversary of their popular Game, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. To commemorate this they would launch GTA Vice City for select iOS and Android devices this fall. They launched their popular game, Grand Theft Auto III for Android and iOS last December. The GTA Vice City is inspired from 1980s American culture and is set in 1986 in Vice City, a fictional city modeled after Miami. SwiftKey has started teasing their new Keyboard, SwiftKey Flow for Android. The SwiftKey Flow would offer continuous gliding input with real-time prediction. This automatically predicts the word based on the movement of your finger. The concept of the SwiftKey Flow looks just like Swype, but it adds the prediction of the SwiftKey that predicts the next word in a sentence.
