Google announced the Digital Wellbeing feature with Android Pie aimed at being responsible with smartphone usage. Digital Wellbeing helps you understand your phone usage better, app usage timers so that you can limit the usage, visuals detailing how many times you unlock your phone per day and how many notifications you receive. Various OEMs like Samsung, OnePlus, Huawei and Xiaomi had introduced their own versions of it called Digital Wellbeing, Digital Balance, Screen time respectively. Samsung Galaxy A80 with 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED Infinity display, Snapdragon 730G, rotating camera launched at Rs. 47,990

POCO F1 Android Q based MIUI testing might start soon

Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO launched the POCO F1 smartphone in India back in August 2018 running MIUI 9.6 Global Stable on top of Android 8.1 (Oreo). Later in December 2018, the company rolled out Android 9.0 (Pie) based MIUI 10 update for the smartphone. Earlier this month, Xiaomi announced a list of smartphones eligible for Android Q update, POCOPHONE Global Head, Alvin has already confirmed Android Q update for the smartphone. Xiaomi confirms Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A Android Pie update plans

Update 4: June 28, 2019 —  Looks like Xiaomi has changed its mind. After saying that it doesn’t have plans to provide Android Pie update plans few months back, Xiaomi now says that it is looking for testers for global stable ROM for Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A smartphones, since it will end beta updates for all phones from July. However, it is yet to roll out pie update for the Redmi S2/Y2 as it had promised to roll out the update around June.

Nokia 1 Android Pie update starts rolling out

After rolling out Android Pie update for the Nokia 3 smartphone earlier this month, HMD Global has started rolling out the update for Nokia 1 as it had promised. The phone was introduced back in March last year running Android 8.1 (Oreo) Go Edition, and this is one of the few Go Edition phones to get Android Pie since most phones like Lava Z50 and Redmi Go are still running Android Oreo since the launch.

OnePlus 6 and 6T OxygenOS beta update brings FPS option to Screen Recorder, stability improvements and more

OnePlus has released OxygenOS open beta update 13 for the OnePlus 6T and beta 21 for the OnePlus 6 that brings several improvements, including FPS option (15, 24 or 30 fps) to Screen Recorder that was introduced with a beta update last month.  The update also improves weather app and phone app optimizations. The company is yet to roll out DC Dimming feature for the OnePlus 6 series that was promised last month. Realme 2 Pro Android Pie ColorOS 6 stable update finally starts rolling out [Update: Roll out resumes with new version]

Update – June 21, 2019: Realme has started rolling out ColorOS 6 stable update for the Realme 2 Pro again after it was stopped due to bootloader issues last month. This has the build number RMX1801EX_11_A.21, includes Android security patch for May, 2019 and is 2.68GB in size. It is rolling out gradually, but you can download the update ZIP file from Realme website here and update manually.

Xiaomi to roll out Android Q beta update for Redmi K20, Mi 8, Redmi Note 7 Pro and more starting Q4 2019

At the Google I/O last month Google in partnership with Xiaomi announced Android Q Beta updates for the Mi MIX 3 5G and the Mi 9, later the company added the K20 Pro (China only) to the list. Today the company has confirmed its plans to roll out Android Q open beta update for Redmi K20, Mi 8 series, K20Mi Mix 2S, Mi Mix 3 and more from Q4 2019 as well as Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro in Q1 2020.

Google releases Android Q Beta 4 with final APIs, reveals upcoming ‘Screen Attention’ and ‘Face authentication’ features

Google released Android developer preview for Android ‘Q’ back in March, released Beta 2 in April and Android Q beta 3 last month during I/O. Today it has released beta 4 for Pixel devices with final Android Q developer APIs (API level 29), the official API 29 SDK, and updated build tools for Android Studio.

Nokia 3 Android Pie update starts rolling out

After rolling out Android Pie update for the Nokia 5.1 smartphone couple of months back, HMD Global has started rolling out the update for Nokia 3 as it had promised. The phone was introduced back in June 2017  running Android 7.0 (Nougat) and got Android 8.1 (Oreo) update back in April last year, so this is third major update the phone is getting. Samsung Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 Android Pie One UI update starts rolling out in India

After the Android Pie update for Galaxy M30 earlier this week, Samsung has started rolling out Android 9.0 (Pie) One UI 1.1 update for the Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 smartphones in India, few days before it had promised. These phones were launched in January running Android 8.1 (Oreo) with Samsung Experience 9.5. Apart from the One UI visual changes, there are many other changes and new features including new adaptive themes for the keyboard that change based on the app you’re currently using, Scene Optimizer for the Camera app, and more. OnePlus 6 and 6T OxygenOS beta update brings Zen Mode, Screen Recorder and more

OnePlus has released OxygenOS open beta update 11 for the OnePlus 6T and beta 19 for the OnePlus 6 that brings several improvements, including Zen Mode and Screen Recorder features that were introduced with the OnePlus 7 Series that were launched earlier this month. Zen Mode that runs for 20 minutes so you can receive only emergency calls and use minimal features. The update also adds pin-to-top feature for notification in India as well as several fixes and optimizations.
