Xiaomi has announced an event on August 13th to introduce MIUI 7, its next MIUI ROM. The MIUI 6 was introduced back in August last year that brought a flat user interface and new features. Even though early versions of MIUI 6 were based on Android KitKat, the latest smartphones such as Mi 4i are running on MIUI 6 ROM based on Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop).

Google has released Android distribution numbers for June and July. Android Lollipop is now running on 18.1% of Android devices of which 5.0 Lollipop is present on 15.5% of devices while Lollipop 5.1 runs on 2.6%.

Samsung introduced the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini back in 2013, which was launched in India in July 2013, now the company has silently launched the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Plus (GT-I9195I) in Europe. This packs a faster Snapdragon 410 64-bit SoC and also comes with 4G LTE support. It also runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) out of the box.
