Sony Xperia C4 with 5.5-inch 1080p display, Octa-Core SoC, 5MP front camera with flash announced

Sony Mobile just announced the Xperia C4, the company latest mid-range handset in the Xperia series. It is a selfie-focused smartphone that comes with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 25mm wide-angle lens along with a soft LED flash, similar to the Xperia C3. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. Other specifications include, 5.5-inch 1080 display, 1.7 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek processor and Android 5.0 (Lollipop). Newer batches of Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge use ISOCELL camera sensor instead of Sony sensor

Earlier today, we reported that Sony was having trouble supplying its sensors to the Chinese manufacturers due to high demand from Apple for their iPhone 6C. Apparently Chinese manufacturers aren’t the only ones affected as even Samsung has been forced to use its own sensors in place of Sony ones. This has been witnessed on the newer units of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

Sony struggling to meet camera sensor demand set by Apple for iPhone 6C

Sony seems to be having issues related to supplying enough units of their camera sensors to Chinese manufacturers due to the high number of orders placed by Apple for their upcoming iPhone 6C. The C series will apparently be there as an option here on out for customers who prefer to have a smaller 4 inch device.

Sony Mobile sales up 11% YoY, 39.1 million smartphones shipped in FY14

Sony Corporation has reported its revenues for fourth quarter of the financial year 2014 and the full year that ended March 31, 2015. Sales increased to 1,937.7 billion yen ( US$ 16,148 million), an increase of 3.6% in Q4 14 compared to the same quarter last year. Sales for the whole financial year 2014 increased 5.8% to 8,215.9 billion yen ( US$ 68,466 million). It shipped 7.9 million smartphones in the quarter and 39.1 million smartphones in the financial year of 2014. Sony SRS-X11 and SRS-X55 portable Bluetooth speakers launched in India for Rs. 5490 and 16990

Sony India has launched SRS-X11 and SRS-X55, the company’s latest portable speakers. The SRS-X11 is a compact cube-shaped speaker that offers 10W powerful audio output. Even though it is a mono speaker, you can pair two speakers for Stereo-mode. It comes with a strap to carry it easily. The SRS-X55 has powerful 30W stereo output and also has 20W subwoofer for an enhanced audio experience. Both these have has Near Field Communication (NFC) to pair with your smartphone or tablet easily. Sony Xperia Z4 could be launched as Xperia Z3+ globally

Sony introduced the Xperia Z4 in Japan last week. Soon after the release, there were reports that said that the Xperia Z4 will be Japan-only, and the company is planning to launch another flagship for global markets. Now the white paper of Sony SCR30 Style Cover Window accessory for the Xperia Z4 shows that the smartphone is also called Xperia Z3+, which could be the name of the phone when it launches in global markets outside Japan. The Sony XPERIA Z4 was announced quietly earlier today in Japan without much hype or media buzz. The handset is currently meant only for Japan and a report has surfaced stating that while the Z4 is Japan only, there will be another flagship handset launched next month that will be available internationally. We aren’t sure whether this will be a Z4 with higher specs or a different handset all together. Sony Xperia Z4 with 5.2-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 810 processor announced

Sony has announced the Xperia Z4, the company’s latest flagship at an event in Japan. It has the same 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Triluminos Display similar to the Z3, but this is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 processor. It runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) and is just 6.9mm thick. It has Sony’s Omni balance design with glass back and aluminium frame. Sony XPERIA Z Fourth Generation Images Leaked

New photos have surfaced of a handset that could very well be the Sony XPERIA Z4 as it looks very similar to what we’ve seen in the past photos rumoured to be that of the Z4. In the images, Sony has referred to the phone as XPERIA Z Fourth Generation. We are not sure if this means that Sony is planning to change it’s naming scheme. Perhaps instead of having Z2, Z3, Z4 etc they will name their handsets XPERIA Z Generation 4, 5 etc. Perhaps it is to make things simpler as they plan on releasing just one flagship phone per year compared to their previous cycle of two phones per year.

Sony Xperia E4g Dual with 4G LTE launched in India for Rs. 13290

Sony has launched Xperia E4g Dual, the company’s latest 4G smartphone in India. It was announced back in February ahead of MWC and packs a 4.7-inch qHD IPS display, is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6732 64-bit SoC and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It also have NFC support. Sony launched the Xperia E4 dual smartphone in India last month.
