Apple is facing a class action lawsuit over the storage space issue on iOS devices. The company has been accused of misrepresenting the phone’s storage capacity after users upgrade to the new iOS 8 operating system on iPhone 5S, 6 and 6+ devices.

Intex has launched Aqua V2, the company’s latest budget smartphone running Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 3.5-inch (320 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, is powered by a 1GHz processor, has a 2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Airtel starts Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G bookings

At the Redmi Note 4G launch, Airtel partnered with Xiaomi to sell the smartphone through Airtel flagship stores across six cities in India. The smartphone went on sale on Flipkart on 30th December for Rs. 9,999 in the first flash sale, and 40,000 units sold out in 6 seconds. Now Airtel has started bookings for the Redmi Note 4G smartphone on the official website. Xolo Q700 Club with Dust and Water Resistance announced for Rs. 6999

Xolo has unveiled Q700 Club, the company’s first smartphone with IP55 ratings for dust and water resistance. It has a 4.5-inch FWVGA display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, similar to the Q700S, but this runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) out of the box and has a 5-megapixel rear camera. Apple patents ‘Smart Pen’ that can detect hand movements

Apple has been granted patents for a stylus design that is capable of detecting hand movements. The ‘Smart Pen’ would use accelerometer sensors, device storage and wireless transmission to send handwritten notes from the stylus to a digital display.

It will come with dual SIM support and LTE connectivity. Xiaomi has not revealed the complete specifications of the smartphone yet. BlackBerry Classic Unboxing

BlackBerry launched the BlackBerry Classic smartphone in the US at an event couple of weeks back. We ordered one from the US for $449 when it went on pre-order last month. The BlackBerry Classic was originally introduced as BlackBerry Q20 at the MWC 2014 earlier this year. As a successor of the Q10, the Classic has a slightly larger 3.5-inch display, which is currently the largest display on a QWERTY BlackBerry smartphone. Check out the unboxing.

In recent months several Indian smartphone manufacturers have targeted low-mid range segment. Smartphones in this category are compact, offer a small screen that is less than 4.5-inches, and offer specifications usually seen in mid-range smartphones that are priced over Rs. 10,000. The Obi Alligator S454 and Lava Iris X1 belong to this category, so we decided to compare these smartphones. The Obi Alligator S454 was launched last month for Rs. 6,450 and the Lava Iris X1 was originally launched back in May for Rs. 7,999 and the company relaunched the smartphone in August in 8GB variant for the same price.
