Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 7.8 update starts rolling out

Nokia has started rolling out the Windows Phone 7.8 devices for Lumia smartphones running on Windows Phone 7.5, such as Nokia Lumia 510, 610, 710, 800 and 900 as they promised. Nokia released the Lumia 505 with Windows Phone 7.8 last month for Mexico and also started shipping the Lumia 510 with WP 7.8. Nokia, Airtel top trusted brands in India yet again


Nokia is still India’s Most Trusted Brand, according to a recent survey conducted by research firm Trust Research Advisory (TRA). Nokia retains the first position from the Brand Trust Report 2011 and the Brand Trust Report 2012. Even Airtel retains the same No. 9 spot in the rank list for 3rd consecutive year. The Brand Trust Report, India Study, 2013 is the third in its series and this year the report lists India’s 1100 Most Trusted Brands from 211 categories. It comprises comprehensive primary research based on 61 attributes called the Brand Trust Matrix, conducted among 2505 influencer-respondents from 16 cities across the country. Nokia Lumia 710 price drops to Rs. 12999

Nokia has cut the price of the Lumia 710 to Rs. 12,999, few weeks before the Lumia 620 goes on sale in India. The Lumia 710 was launched in India for Rs. 19,000 along with the the Lumia 800. Nokia and Airtel launch co-branded version of Nokia Xpress Browser


Bharti Airtel and Nokia has launched a customized version of Nokia Xpress Browser for the Airtel customers with Nokia Asha and select Series 40 devices.  The Nokia Xpress browser usually comes pre-loaded on Asha phones, but the new co-branded version would offer the Airtel subscribers and enhanced experience, by providing them with one-click access to Airtel’s premium mobile internet services and easy discoverability of rich content on-the-go. Nokia introduces Music+ low-cost subscription service for Lumia devices

Nokia has announced Music+, a low-cost music subscription service for Lumia users that would offer high quality music with infinite skips, unlimited downloads and lots more. Nokia introduced Nokia Music, free music streaming service for US customers, but it had limited features. The  new Music+ service would offer music downloads at 3.99 Euros per month. Yellow is awesome. Why am I saying that? Well, because my Nokia Lumia 920 looks absolutely great in yellow! When I decided to actually buy one, my color choices became clear quite easily: red or yellow. There could only be those two. Black and white are just so outdated. End of an era, Nokia 808 PureView to be the last Symbian phone

Two years later, the burning platform is officially no more. As part of its Q4 financial results, the Finnish smartphone manufacturer announced that the  Nokia 808 PureView is the last Symbian phone. Nokia managed to sell close to 2.2 million Symbian phones presumably spurred by demand for the camera powerhouse that is the 808. Nokia Q4 2012 results out $585 million profit, 4.4 million Lumia handsets sold

Nokia just announced its financial results for the 4th quarter of 2012. The Finnish smartphone manufacturer  has raked in profits equivalent to $585 million over the course of the last three months of 2012. The company has had losses of $3 billion over 2012.

Nokia Drive+ Beta now available for all Windows Phone 8 devices

Microsoft and Nokia has announced that Nokia Drive+ Beta would be available for all the Windows Phone 8 devices, apart from the existing Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices in select countries. Nokia Lumia PureView Windows Phone with 41MP camera rumored to debut at MWC 2013

When the first PureView device, the Nokia 808 PureView was announced it was rumored that the first Windows Phone running device with similar tech inside it won’t be announced anytime soon. Fast forward to 2013 and we have the first rumors of Nokia EOS which is said to be the codename for a Lumia device equipped with a sensor similar to the Nokia 808.

Nokia 206 Dual SIM phone now available in India for Rs. 3599

Nokia 206 that was announced back in November last year along with the Asha 205 is now available in India from online retailer Flipkart. The Asha 205 was launched in India last month. It has a 2.4-inch (240 x 320 pixels) 65k color display and runs on Nokia’s Series 40 OS. It has Easy Swap Dual SIM support that lets you switch between SIM cards without turning off your phone. The SLAM feature in the phone enables multimedia content sharing between phones equipped with Bluetooth, regardless of the OS (iOS and Windows Phone not supported currently).
