The Lumia 820 forms the mid range member of Nokia’s new range of Windows Phone handsets. With the 920’s guts and innovative hardware design, the Lumia 820 is a very interesting handset. We got our hands on the white version of the handset and here’s a short photo gallery for your viewing pleasure!
Theres a 4.3 inch WVGA screen on the front which is of the AMOLED variety. The screen is equipped with ClearBlack technology which improves black levels and daylight visibility. Additionally, the handset has a cool high sensitivity mode which lets you operate the display using gloves.
The plastic shell of the handset can be replaced with after market options which are available in a variety of colors. Over at the top is a 8MP camera equipped with a Carl Zeiss lens. To the left of the camera is a dual LED flash.
With Windows Phone 8, Microsoft has directed all OEMs to place the micro USB slot at the bottom of the handset to facilitate the creation of universal accessories. Next to the micro USB slot is the speaker opening.
The top of the handset sports the 3.5 mm audio jack. The power button of the handset is placed on the right allowing easy one handed usage.
The Lumia 820 makes for an interesting mid range handset for someone looking to buy their first smartphone. The removable shells and optional wireless charging help the phone stand out from the competition but is it enough to earn a recommendation ?
