Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro Preview

At the Mobile Benchmarking Workshop here in San Francisco , Qualcomm showed off it’s next generation Quadcore mobile processor – the Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ 8064) .  And guess what Qualcomm just did not make just a boring announcement about a chipset and that the devices using the chip will be in the market later this year. But , Qualcomm let us use a tablet (prototype obviously ) which uses the new quadcore chip with 4 Krait cores along with the new Adreno 320 GPU. NVIDIA announces support for Miracast wireless display standard for Tegra 3 devices

NVIDIA has announced that they would bring support for Miracast, open wireless display standard  that was announced earlier this May. It would let Tegra 3 users to instantly stream content including photos and HDTVs to any Miracast-enabled display. The quad-core Tegra 3 chip would also let you stream intensive games such as ShadowGun THD which is Tegra 3-optimized game on to HDTVs. Samsung Omnia M now available in India for Rs. 16,400

Samsung Omnia M that was announced in May is now available in India from official Samsung eStore. It runs on Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) and has 4.0-inch (800 x 480 pixels) Super AMOLED display, 1 GHz processor and 5 MP Auto focus camera with LED Flash and a VGA video calling camera. Penta T-Pad IS701C running Android 4.0 launched for Rs. 4,999

Pantel Technologies has launched T-Pad IS701C, their new tablet running on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) 16 million color Multi Touch Capacitive touch screen display with  16:9 aspect ratio and is powered by 1 GHz processor. It has WiFi and supports 2G and 3G via USB Dongles for data connectivity.

Viber for Android and iPhone v2.2 update brings Group Messaging and more new features

Viber VOIP (Voice Over IP) app for Android and iPhone has been updated to version 2.2 that brings support for Group messaging, custom background for conversation screen,  time stamp for each message and much more. INTEX i-Buddy 7-inch tablet running Android 4.0 launched in South India for Rs 6,490

INTEX has launched i-Buddy tablet, their second Android tablet. They launched the iTab, 8-inch Android tablet earlier this March which got a price cut in May. This new INTEX i-Buddy tab has a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and is powered by 1 GHz processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and is just 9mm thick. Huawei Ascend G300 and Y200 launched in India for Rs. 13490 and Rs. 8190


Huawei has launched their new Android smartphones Ascend G300 and Ascend Y200 in India. The G300 is the first smartphone in the Ascend G (gold) series and it packs in 4-inch ( 800×480 pixels) display and is powered by 1GHz processor. It has 5MP auto focus camera with LED Flash. The Ascend Y200 lies in youth series and has Stylish U form design with premium looks and 3D texture on back. it packs in a 3.5-inch (320×480 pixels) display, 800 MHz processor and 3.2MP camera. LG Quick Voice is now ‘Q Voice’, Global English version coming in 2013

LG announced the Quick Voice, their own intelligent voice recognition app for Optimus devices last month. The company has now renamed it to Q Voice. This voice recognition app would let the users call contacts, on the address book, set alarm, set appointments on the calendar and open apps, open maps to view directions, check weather forecasts, stocks, open YouTube videos and much more using voice commands. ZTE N880E running Android 4.1 launched in China

ZTE has launched ZTE N880E in China. It is the first smartphone to come with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) in China. It has 4.0-inch (480 x 80o pixels) capacitive touchscreen display and is powered by 1GHz Qualcomm processor. It has metallic finish and comes with 3.2MP Auto focus camera and is just 10.4mm thick. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 now available in India for Rs. 32990


Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (GT-P5100) that was announced at MWC 2012 earlier this year is now on sale in India from Samsung eStore. The Galaxy Tab 2 310, 7-inch variant that we reviewed recently officially launched in India in May. It has 10.1-inch WXGA(1280×800) PLS TFT display, 1 GHz Dual-Core Processor, Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with Touchwiz UI, 3MP rear-facing camera and VGA front facing camera. Exclusive : LG Optimus Vu coming to India later this year

LG India today confirmed to FoneArena at the LG Bloggers Meet today that the Optimus Vu is indeed coming to India later this year. The Optimus Vu is a 5-inch phone from LG which puts it in the same league as the Samsung Galaxy Note. The screen is one of the main highlights of the device and it packs a 1024x768px resolution. The phone packs 32GB of inbuilt storage and utilizes a microSIM card slot. It also comes with a capacitive stylus.

LG Optimus 4X HD launched in India for Rs. 34990


LG has launched the Optimus 4X HD, their first quad-core Tegra 3 handset in India. It was announced at MWC 2012 earlier this February. It has 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) True HD IPS display with 313 PPI and is powered by 1.5GHz Quad-core Tegra 3 processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and has an 8MP auto focus camera with LED Flash support, 1.3MP secondary camera. It is just 8.9mm thick. LG Optimus L5 launched in India for Rs. 13199

 LG has launched the Optimus L5 in India from the L-Style series of phones that was unveiled at MWC 2012 . Other L-Style series of phones, Optimus L3 went on sale in India in May and the Optimus L7 was officially launched in June. LG has officially launched the Optimus L3 in India today. Reliance launches new 3G Android tablet for Rs. 14,499

Reliance Communications has launched Reliance 3G Tab, a new 3G Android tablet, upgraded version of their previous tablet that was launched last year. It is manufactured by ZTE and has 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and is powered by 1.4GHz processor. It runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).
