OnePlus has started rolling out OxygenOS 9.0 update based on Android 9.0 (Pie) for its flagship OnePlus 6 smartphone, in about four months after it released the Android P beta as one of the first manufacturers, and releasing three open beta updates this month. Nokia 7 Plus is one of the first set of devices to get Android 9.0 Pie beta when it is announced by the Google at I/O 2018. At the same event, Google announced the Digital Wellbeing feature which was made available in beta back in August. It was available only to Pixel smartphones running Android Pie. However, Google seems to be expanding the feature to other devices as it pushed an update to Digital Wellbeing feature via Play Store to the Nokia 7 Plus. Google has silently renamed its ‘Google Keep’ to “Keep Notes.” with the V5.0.371.03 that started rolling out on Monday. This tiny rebrand is visible on the home screen icon, launcher, and Android’s App Info page in system settings. However, the Google web app page still refers to the service as Google Keep, and the Play Store listing is yet to be updated. Chrome has been updated to V70 beta as the V69 is finally stable. This beta is not as big as the previous version but has security-focused features. Chrome 67 for desktop has added web authentications which will allow sites to use fingerprint or a Bluetooth key as the sole login method. This API is now enabled by default on Android. YouTube for Desktop got dark theme back in 2017 and since then it is the most requested feature for mobile as well. iOS app got it in March. Google has started rolling out new over-the-air (OTA) update for Pixel devices and also posted factory images as part of monthly Android Security release. The update for this month also includes functional patches that improves battery charge in Retail Mode for Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL as well as improvements to SW Version reporting and audio quality over car speakers for all the Pixel phones.
