Android Oreo adoption rate climbs to 12.1%, Nougat is now on 30.8% devices

Google is out with Android distribution numbers for the month of July and Oreo adoption rate has climbed up to 12.1% which includes both Android 8.0 and 8.1. OnePlus 6 Android P Beta 3 (DP4) released, brings fixes and improvements

OnePlus has released Android P Beta 3  (DP4) for the OnePlus 6 smartphone. This includes several fixes and improvements, including camera improvements and camera functionality with third-party apps. There are also issues with the power consumption, Bluetooth compatibility and third-part app compatibility warns OnePlus.

HMD Global has finally released Android P  Developer Preview 4 (Beta 3) V3.110 for the Nokia 7 Plus smartphone, weeks after Google pushed the update for its Pixel devices. WhatsApp beta for Android hints at Mark as read and Mute shortcuts in notification center [Update: Mute shortcut now rolling out in beta]

Update: Mute Shortcuts that appeared in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.18.214 is now available for everyone from beta version 2.18.216. This feature allows you quickly mute a chat, directly from the Notification Center when you receive over 51 messages from the same chat. The update doesn’t enable Mark as Read shortcut feature in the Notification Center yet.

OnePlus 5 and 5T OxygenOS beta update brings Google Lens support in camera, image quality improvements

OnePlus has released new beta updates (Beta 14 for the OnePlus 5 and Open Beta 12 for OnePlus 5T) for the OnePlus 5 and 5T smartphones that finally brings  support for Google Lens support. It also brings image quality improvements and optimizations to reduce oil painting effect. The smartphones got support for Project Treble in the previous OxygenOS beta update earlier this month. Xiaomi Mi A1 finally got stable Android 8.1 (Oreo) update for last month, but it was pulled quickly after users started complaining about the SMS bug that wipes entire SMS history after updating.
