Nokia 7 Plus on Android Pie beta gets Digital Wellbeing via a Play Store update

Android P features

Nokia 7 Plus is one of the first set of devices to get Android 9.0 Pie beta when it is announced by the Google at I/O 2018. At the same event, Google announced the Digital Wellbeing feature which was made available in beta back in August. It was available only to Pixel smartphones running Android Pie. However, Google seems to be expanding the feature to other devices as it pushed an update to Digital Wellbeing feature via Play Store to the Nokia 7 Plus.

Nokia 7 Plus users running on Android 9 Pie Beta seems to be getting the update unhiding the hidden Digital Wellbeing feature. The Digital Wellbeing feature is to promote the “joy of missing out”—as opposed to the modern social terror of “FOMO”/fear of missing out.

The beta version of the feature includes a ‘Dashboard’ that will help you understand your phone usage better, app usage timers so that you can limit the usage, a “devices down,” Do Not Disturb mode for preventing interruptions, and a new Wind Down feature for encouraging you to disconnect at night.

Combined, these features are here to help you better understand your habits and digital health, and will also enable you to limit the usage and how to switch off for a better balance. To try out the Digital Wellbeing on Nokia 7 Plus, you can either wait for Google Play Store update or side-load the APK and manually start using it.
