Toshiba unveils application processor for Wearable devices

The wearables market is the next battleground for the manufacturers and it has become pretty evident that everybody has their eyes on the smart watch category as Google had just announced Android Wear for wearables. While most manufacturers are busy building products to reach the consumers, Toshiba has taken a turn and has just announced an application processor for the wearable devices.

Toshiba introduces 8MP BSI CMOS camera sensor for smartphones

Toshiba Corporation has unveiled T4K35, a new 1.12µm, 8-megapixel BSI CMOS image sensor with color noise reduction (CNR) aimed to smartphones and tablet . The integrated  CNR circuit and realizes a signal-to-noise ratio are similar to Toshiba sensor created with 1.4µm pixel process. This sensor also incorporates a high dynamic range (HDR) function that reproduces dark and bright areas in high contrast images perfectly. Toshiba challenges Lytro with its new refocusing smartphone sensor

Lytro, the kaleidoscope-like camera that hit the markets last year had a special advantage to it. It could refocus the image, AFTER it was taken. It was a market disruption and there was no competition, till now. Yes, Toshiba has now announced that they are manufacturing a similar sensor that can be used for Smartphones and Tablets with commercial availability slated for sometime around 2013.

Toshiba introduces 13 MP TK437 sensor with enhanced low light shooting capabilities

Toshiba has just announced that it is launching its new CMOS based sensor which will be part of its next generation range of camera sensors. The 13 megapixel TK437 sensor packs in backside illumination which will help low light performance and improve noise reduction. Toshiba has also integrated color noise reduction (CNR) to develop its newest CMOS image sensor that fits into an 8.5mm x 8.5mm size camera module

Toshiba announces thinnest Android tablet AT200 at IFA

Many devices are being launched at the IFA, we just saw a parade of new Samsung devices, now it is the time for Toshiba to reveal their Android Honeycomb running tablet AT200. At 7.7 mm thin, this is the thinnest tablet running Android, thinner than Samsung’s Galaxy Tab by 1 mm.

Toshiba Folio 100 Tablet Launched

Toshiba has launched a new Android Tablet called the Folio 100 which is powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 2 CPU. It runs on Android  2.2 Operating System and features a 10.1 inch Multi-Touch Display. The WiFi only version will be available this year and a version with 3G support would be launched in 2011.

Samsung Releases 1GHz CPU for Mobiles

Samsung and Intrinsity jointly announced the Hummingbird CPU which is based on the ARM® Cortex™-A8 processor architecture in 45 nanometer (nm) Low Power (LP), low leakage process technology. It is the fastest processor in the industry.
