The Galaxy Note 8.0 launched way back in February, at the Mobile World Congress as the first 8 inch screened device in the Galaxy Note series. The surprising addition was that the cellular edition of the device could make calls and lets you use it like a phone thanks to the on-device ear piece. It was extremely awkward to see people holding a huge device to their face but worry not, we have got the 16 GB WiFi only version for review here and we are going to see whether the Note 8.0 is really worth your money. Lets find out in the full review then.

Samsung Galaxy family screen size comparison

samsung-galaxy-family-screen-size-comparison-1

Samsung, with a mad obsession with large screened devices, a market they themselves help pioneer, launched two huge handsets fit for their name, namely the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3, with the respective screen sizes appended to their name. We found them quite huge, unsurprisingly, and we wanted to see how the trend has been with the Samsung’s Galaxy family of Android devices with respect to growing screen sizes. So yes, we took some devices we had with us to the launch event and put them side to side to see how the screen sizes fared against each other. Free Internet upvotes for whoever names all the devices in the above images correctly, in the comments section below. Go!

Samsung readying its India plant for manufacturing the Galaxy S4

Not too long ago, Samsung proclaimed in their REX series launch event that they had started to manufacture those range of devices at their manufacturing facility in India. Wireless charging: The future or a passing fad?

tesla_tower1_lg

Wireless charging, much like many other technologies that find their ways into the hands of the everyday consumer has a long and unspectacular past. First attempted, at least in the public sphere, in the early 1900’s by one Nikolas Tesla, whose many brilliant ideas and even more spectacular failures (this being one of them) coloured a rather interesting period in innovation and developments for consumer-facing products. The idea was revived in the mid-2000’s by a number of independent individuals working out of MIT, Jeff Lieberman and Marin Soljacic and team. Wireless power transmission is a bit of a misnomer as wires are almost certainly involved in nearly every step of the way with the sole exception being the wire usually linking the power supply to the “sink” which is the device using the power in the first place.
