Samsung goes after Apple’s business again. This time, Samsung follows Apple into the educational domain where the presence of Apple’s iPad seems to have increased. Apple’s iPads have a lot of content in the educational domain and with the ever expanding iTunes Textbooks and iTunes U Course Manager, it justifies the demand of tablets in the educational domain. Samsung has spotted a way to increase its tablet market share and has announced a tablet with a special focus on educational content.
Samsung’s Galaxy Tab range of products have been immensely popular due to their successful marriage of price and specifications. While Samsung’s 7 inch tablet has been the highlight, 8 inches is fast becoming the sweet spot in terms of screen size. Samsung India has revealed the price of the much awaited Android tablet from the company – the Galaxy Note 510 which was announced as the Galaxy Note 8.0 during Mobile World Congress and announced for India as the Galaxy Note 510 at the Samsung Forum in Hyderabad. The price for the 3G version which supports calling is indicated as Rs.30900 on the company’s online store.
In a bid to hit each and every size possible out there, Samsung today announced the Galaxy Note 8.0 which fills one of the last remaining size based gaps in their line up. Predictably, the device is a blown up Galaxy Note with a 8 inch display.

If you’ve been following the Apple vs Samsung case you’ll know that while the German and US courts had ruled in Apple’s favor awarding them over 1 billion dollars in damages, the UK courts passed judgement that Samsung had not copied Apple. In accordance with the court’s ruling, Apple today published a statement stating that Samsung did not infringe on their copyright.
Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab 2 310 which is a 7 inch tablet running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It is powered by a 1GHz Dual Core CPU and packs 1GB of RAM.It packs both 3G and WiFi functionality and features 16GB of internal memory which is expandable to 32GB. The tablet uses Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI on top of Ice Cream Sandwich.
We finally got hold of a Samsung Galaxy Tab 750 and we have to admit this Tablet is pretty attractive. We are big fans of the hardware and the display. We are still getting used to the Android HoneyComb UI. The TouchWiz UI on top of HoneyComb is in fact interesting and an advantage over stock Honeycomb tablets like the Motorola Xoom. The Tab 750 is moderately lighter than the iPad 2 and a tad thinner as well. Samsung had announced this tablet at MWC this year but this tab got a new design after the iPad 2 was announced. Check out the video below where we quickly take a look at the retail box , power on the device and also fire up the browser and do a quick speed test on Vodafone’s HSPA network where we managed to clock about 4-5 Mbps download speeds.
Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab 7.7 at IFA in Berlin and we have got hold of the specs of this impressive tablet. The folks at SammyHub have posted the first photos of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 which seems like a 7.7 inch Android Honeycomb tablet. From what we can see , it runs on Android Honeycomb , sports a 7.7 inch display with no physical menu keys and includes a 3.5 mm audio jack on the top. Following the preliminary injunction given to Samsung banning sales of its 10.1 ” tablet across Europe , the Dusseldorf based court has reverted on its order. Apple claims that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a copy of the Apple iPad in the design department.
In a major blow to Samsung , a German court has ordered that Samsung should stop selling the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in all of Europe except Netherlands. Samsung Russia has announced that it’s entire line of Galaxy products are getting the Gingerbread update. While many phones have already got the update , the company has promised that it’s bringing the gingerbread update to the Galaxy Tab 3G and WiFi models and also the Galaxy SL i9003. The Galaxy 3 and Galaxy 5 will not get Gingerbread love but only Froyo !
