Microsoft Surface Book 2 will be available in 17 new countries including India later this year

Microsoft today announced the availability of the Surface Book 2 in 17 markets including India. The Surface Book 2 was announced back in October last year, and the 13.5-inch model is already available in most markets, while the 15-inch model pre-orders will begin today and would go on sale later this year.

Micromax BHARAT GO Android Oreo Go Edition smartphone launching January-end

After rumors, Micromax today confirmed that it will launch BHARAT GO, the first Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone in India, in partnership with Google by the end of January 2018. Android Oreo (Go Edition) is Google’s trim down version of Android for low-cost phones with 512MB to 1GB RAM.

AMD chips vulnerable to both variants of Spectre security flaw, firmware updates coming this week

Though AMD’s initial response to Spectre security flaw was positive as the company said the impact is ‘near zero’, today it confirmed that the processors are vulnerable to both variants of the Spectre security flaw. The company further added that it is rolling out firmware updates available for Ryzen and EPYC owners this week.

Microsoft partners with Signal to roll out Skype Private Conversations with end-to-end encryption

Microsoft has teamed up with Signal; a protocol for the private messenger to bring an experimental feature called ‘Private Conversations’ with end-to-end encryption on Skype app. However, the end-to-end encryption is only available between one-on-one contacts but not in group chats. 

Xiaomi suspends Android Oreo update for Mi A1, plans to release again within couple of weeks

The Mi A1 was launched under Android One program with a promise to provide android Oreo update within 2017, Xiaomi started the Beta testing for Oreo based ROM in mid December and started rolling out Android Oreo update to Mi A1 on 31st Dec as it promised.
