Flipkart launches Flyte eBooks for Android

Flipkart has launched Flyte eBooks for Android. The company launched Flyte MP3 downloads earlier this year along with a Flyte MP3 Android app. The new Flyte eBooks for Android that lets you download eBook on your Android device from a collection of over 60,000 paid books and about 4000 free eBooks. You can sign in to your Flipkart account, add money to your wallet and start buying the book from the app or purchase it online. Unlike the Amazon’s Kindle format (.azw or .mobi), this uses Flipkart’s propitiatory format (.fkb). You can download each Flipkart eBook to a maximum of six devices, similar to Amazon Kindle books. Lava XOLO A700 Dual SIM Android Smartphone now available for Rs. 9999

Lava XOLO A700 that surfaced earlier this week is now available from online retailer Flipkart. It has a 4.5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) 16M color capacitive touch screen IPS display and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6577 processor. It has Dual SIM support and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It comes with a 5MP auto focus camera with LED flash at the back with 720p HD video recording and a VGA front-facing camera. LG Optimus L9 up for pre-order in India for Rs. 19990

LG Optimus L9 that was announced back in August is now available for pre-order from online retailer Flipkart in India for Rs. 19,990. It comes in Black and White colors and is expected to ship in the first week of December. The phone is priced at an MRP of Rs. 22,000 on LG India website. It has a 4.7-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) IPS capacitive touch screen display and is powered by 1GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor. Adblock Plus for Android released, Blocks ads in Mobile Browsers and Apps

Adblock Plus, popular ad-block extension / add-on on Firefox and Chrome is now available for Android. It blocks ads on most Apps and Browser over Wi-Fi even if you are not rooted. You need a rooted Android phone for ad blocking over 2G / 3G. It does not allow ads to be blocked on SSL encrypted websites. According to the Adblock site, the Android app only blocks ads Firefox and Opera browsers, but we tried it on the default Android browser and Chrome, and it worked fine. Apollo Plus update rumored to bring improved WiFi, other fixes to Windows Phone 8

Rumors have surfaced that Microsoft plans to detail its next update for Windows Phone 8 at the Mobile World Congress in February. The update is expected to bring a lot of bug fixes alongside new features. The Verge suggests that Microsoft will be bringing bug fixes related to audio issues that some  users have been facing. We’re also expecting to see persistent WiFi capabilities introduced.

iPhone 5 Shipping Estimates Drop to 1 Week

Last week, we reported that Apple has started to catch up on iPhone 5 demand in the U.S. Now, iPhone 5 shipping estimates for Asia and Pacific markets have dropped to just one week. That’s the shortest shipping estimate since the iPhone 5 went on sale back in September. A shorter shipping time might  mean demand is dropping, or more likely Apple has been able to ramp up production of the iPhone 5 to meet demand. LG has launched  ND8520 Speaker Dock for iPhone and iPad in India. You can dock your iPhone, iPod Touch or your iPad (with a 30-pin connector) to play music and it also has AirPlay support that lets you stream audio from these devices wirelessly. The 2.1 channel speaker has built-in woofer and minimizes sound loss, resulting in sound that is both crisp and rich in depth. Nokia 206 Hands On

Alongside the QWERTY equipped Nokia Asha 205, the Finnish phone manufacturer also announced the Nokia 206 as part of its feature phone offering.

Facebook and Nokia partner for Asha 205 with dedicated Facebook button

Nokia announced Asha 205 and 206 earlier today in India. The Asha 205 is a Dual SIM phone with a 2.4-inch (240 x 320 pixels) 65k color display with QWERTY Keyboard that also has a dedicated Facebook button for one-click access to Facebook features. This would improve the user experience by brings important features including Facebook messages, photos and more. This is the first Nokia device to feature a dedicated Facebook button.
