Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 311 vs Apple iPad Mini

Samsung’s dominance in the smartphone market is well-known, but the South Korean electronics giant is yet to stamp its authority on the Tablet market. Apple was the company that brought back tablets to life with their original iPad.

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 3 311 was launched in July  while the iPad Mini was launched way back last year. The iPad Mini is almost at the end of its product cycle while the Tab 3 is quite fresh.

Both the tablets are worlds apart in terms of build quality, the software they run and the internals they feature. Lets check out how they perform.

Lenovo S5000 with 7-inch HD display, quad-core processor and Android 4.2 announced

Lenovo has announced the S5000, a new tablet in the S series. It has a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) wide-viewing angle display, powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Media Tek 8389 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera. It is just 7.9mm thick and weighs 246 grams.  It has rear speakers and packs a 3450 mAh battery that offers up to 8 hours of  continuous WiFi browsing. Lenovo Vibe X announced, 5-inch 1080p display in a 6.9mm thin and 121g light body

Lenovo has announced the Vibe X, the company’s latest smartphone at the IFA 2013. It has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS “20/20 Vision” display at 440 PPI  for sharp images with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, BSI sensor and has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 88 degree wide angle lens. There is also a photo application to view and organize images, option to create puzzles and customize specific games from the photos, choose custom settings and filters and instant photo and video sharing. Without doubt, apple has had a lot of success with the slate design of their iPhones – from the iPhone 4 onwards, the design hasn’t really changed.

HTC One Dual SIM + launched in India on Tata Docomo for Rs. 53590

Last month we reported that HTC would launch the Dual SIM variant of the HTC One soon. The phone went on sale online last month, Now HTC and Tata Docomo has partnered to launch the phone in India officially, calling it HTC One Dual SIM +. The company says that this is the first Android phone launched in India which offers CDMA and UMTS dual SIM capability. It has similar features as the HTC One single-SIM variant including a 4.7 inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display,  1.7 GHz quad-core processor,  Android Jelly Bean with Sense 5, UltraPixel camera with LED Flash and a 2.1MP HD front-facing camera. Jelly Bean now on 45% of Android devices

Google has released the Android’s Platform Distribution Numbers for the period of August to September 2013. Devices running on Jelly Bean (Android 4.1 and 4.2) has jumped from 40.5% to 45.1%, a 4.6 % jump in a single month. The growth is more compared to last month. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean started rolling out for the Nexus devices and Google Play Editions of the S4 and the HTC One. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 that was unveiled yesterday would be the first non-Nexus device to launch with Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. Xiaomi has announced the most expected Mi3, successor of the Mi2 that was launched last year. It has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display with 441 PPI, based one-glass solution (OGS) ultra-sensitive touch that lets you use the phone even when it’s wet or while wearing gloves. It comes with 1.8 GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor with 72 core GeForce GPU for the TD-SCDMA variant and 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM 8974AB) processor with Adreno 330 GPU for the WCDMA / CDMA2000 version. It runs on MIUI v5 on top of Android. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony Exmor RS BSI sensor, 28mm lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel BSI front-facing camera with 30mm lens. Sony has announced their new F886 Walkman, an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean powered Music Player with a 4-inch (854 x 480 Pixels) LCD Triluminos display for vivid, lifelike colours .  It has one-touch listening via NFC connectivity so that you can pair and connect your F886 with a range of NFC-enabled devices, option to install Android apps and games via Google Play and has  Sony’s proprietary sound technology that offer audio at 192KHz/24bit High-Resolution Audio. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Hands On

We were live blogging the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 launch event from Berlin and we did manage to get our hands on the device.It does look slightly different from the previous generation Galaxy Note 2 in terms of the design and features.It has a larger 5.7 inch display and feels pretty nice to hold in hand thanks to the new textured back which is not a fingerprint magnet.The back cover is still removable.It supports LTE globally on every network according to Samsung.It also supports Ultra HD or 4K video capture which is pretty new to phones. It weighs 168grams and is about 8.33 m thick and the iconic stylus or S-pen is still part of the package.

Samsung Galaxy Gear Hands On

Much has been leaked about Samsung’s Galaxy Gear smartwatch. Today at the Unpacked Event in Berlin, we finally got a chance to see for ourselves if the Korean giant’s first efforts to enter into the world of wearables would be something special and here are our first impressions of the Samsung Galaxy Gear. Shaped like a conventional watch, the Gear is chunky to say the least. It might not be the most visually appealing smartwatch but it’s not an eye sore either.
