Android 4.3 update starts rolling out for the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One Google Play editions

Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update for the Google Play editions of the HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S4 has finally started rolling out. This comes soon after both the HTC and Samsung releases the Kernel source code online. The Android 4.3 update for the Google Nexus devices started rolling out last week, soon after the announcement. Both these devices were running on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) when it released.

Even though the Android 4.3 update doesn’t bring major UI changse. It brings new features including Restricted Profiles , Bluetooth 4.0 low energy support , OpenGL ES 3.0 support and more. In addition the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play edition gets Bluetooth tethering. The icon sizes has been increased on both the devices. IR feature now works on the HTC One.

The build number is JWR66V and the build date is August 1st, 2013 for both the devices. The OTA update is just 150 MB for the Galaxy S4 and 180 MB for the HTC One. The update would roll out gradually.
