The Nokia Lumia 525, a newly launched device that we unboxed recently, has been known to be a slightly upgraded variant of the Lumia 520. It carries almost exactly the same spec sheet and hardware except for the RAM, which has been upped to 1 GB for obvious reasons. With an incredibly small change in hardware, one would expect everything else to remain the same. But that is not the case with the 525, because it comes with Lumia Black firmware update out of the box, which brings some algorithm-level changes to the already robust camera interface, the Nokia Camera. So, does this change the 520/5’s camera performance in any way? Lets find out from some of our camera samples.

Huawei Ascend P6 S with 4.7-inch 720p display, 1.6 GHz quad-core processor launched in China

Huawei has launched the Ascend P6 S, the successor of last year’s Ascend P6 in China. It has a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display based on in-cell LCD screen technology, similar to the Ascend P6, but this one is powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) with Huawei’s own Emotion UI 2.0 on top. Xolo Q3000 Camera Samples

Xolo just launched their Xolo Q3000 and it is their latest flagship device. The Xolo Q3000 is a huge device and has a 5.7inch Full HD 1080p display. With a quad-core MediaTek MT6589T processor under the hood, it joins the league of MediaTek powered Full HD smartphones in the mid-range segment. The Xolo Q3000 is a solidly build device, but is just too big for most people. Like most phones that it competes with, it comes with a 13MP camera on the back and a 5MP camera on the front.

Sony releases Xperia Z1’s Timeshift burst app on Google Play, available for select Xperia devices

Sony Mobile has released the Timeshift burst app on Google Play that would let users with select (Xperia Z, Xperia  ZL,  Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia  Tablet Z) Xperia users to use the feature. This app captures 61 frames in 2 seconds starting even before you press the shutter, just like HTC One. Once it is captured, you can scroll back and forth to select the perfect image. Nokia Lumia 1320 Unboxing

The Nokia Lumia 1320 is part of the two new phablets announced by the Finnish company some time back. Announced alongside the 1520, the device follows the large screen trend and brings a massive 6 inch display to the table. Under the hood you find a 1.7 Ghz Dual Core Snapdragon 400 processor which is paired with 1GB of RAM. A 5MP camera is located at the back of the phone while a 0.3MP shooter can be seen up front. The 6 inch display has a resolution of 1280 x 720 and has a Gorilla Glass 3 coating on top. Owing to the large display, an additional column of tiles can be pinned on the screen. Intex Aqua Curve in the Aqua series appeared on the official Intex website yesterday, now Intex Aqua i15 with a 6-inch qHD display has appeared on official website along with four new Cloud series smartphones,  Cloud Y12, Cloud Y11, Cloud X11 and Cloud X1+ smartphones. The Cloud Y12 is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, which would compete with recently launched Micromax Canvas XL A119. Sony launches WiFi only Xperia Z Ultra in Japan

The long rumored and anticipated WiFi only version of the Sony Xperia Z Ultra is now official and the mini tablet will soon be available in Sony’s home turf of Japan. Priced at a smidgen under $500, you get a 6.4 inch Triluminos Display, Snapdragon 800 processor that make for a very handy device that is almost a tablet, just a bit more portable. The IP58 certification, slim shell further contribute to making it a rather interesting miniature tablet. Following the freemium model on other platforms, Gameloft has made its premier racing franchise Asphalt 8: Airborne free for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 in their respective app stores. Featuring a lot of premium cars and race tracks, the Asphalt 8 game is something we have repeatedly featured in our gaming reviews, as it serves as a decent benchmark for graphics performance. Google Nexus 8 powered by Intel Atom processor rumored for 2014

Google Nexus 7 (2013) is an affordable tablet, but it definitely isn’t the most affordable one right now and that is shifting the buyers to more budget friendly options. Google Nexus 7 (2013) is nearly 6 months old and we are hearing rumors that Google is already working on the next generation Nexus tablets. The rumored Google Nexus 8 will have a 8inch display and is likely to be powered by Intel’s Bay Trail processor.
