Xolo has unveiled Q700 Club, the company’s first smartphone with IP55 ratings for dust and water resistance. Apple has been granted patents for a stylus design that is capable of detecting hand movements. The ‘Smart Pen’ would use accelerometer sensors, device storage and wireless transmission to send handwritten notes from the stylus to a digital display.

Xiaomi has announced that it will launch a new Redmi series smartphone on January 4th, 2015 in China. It will come with dual SIM support and LTE connectivity. Xiaomi has not revealed the complete specifications of the smartphone yet. It will come in a range of colors and will be available from QQ space. Earlier this week, a leaked image of a laptop from Xiaomi was revealed. However, a Xiaomi spokesperson has denied the reports and said that the image is fake.
BlackBerry launched the BlackBerry Classic smartphone in the US at an event couple of weeks back. We ordered one from the US for $449 when it went on pre-order last month. The BlackBerry Classic was originally introduced as BlackBerry Q20 at the MWC 2014 earlier this year. Smartphones in this category are compact, offer a small screen that is less than 4.5-inches, and offer specifications usually seen in mid-range smartphones that are priced over Rs. 10,000. The Obi Alligator S454 and Lava Iris X1 belong to this category, so we decided to compare these smartphones.
