The Android 5.0 binaries are available for the Nexus Player, but it is yet to release binaries for the Nexus 9 tablet included in the factory images itself. EE says UK national roaming is a ‘flawed concept’

Nexus 6 UK launch on December 1, pre-orders from 18 November
For fans awaiting the launch of the Google Nexus 6 in the UK, the wait is almost over as UK-based online retailer Mobiles.co.uk has announced the handset will launch in the UK on 1 December. As reported by Pocket-Lint, the Nexus 6 will be available to pre-order from 18 November and the retailer says that the handset “should be” from £28 per month. Unfortunately it doesn’t reveal the SIM free price of the handset, rather focusing on the details of the plan which uses the O2 network and offers unlimited minutes, texts and 1GB data each month. Former Phones 4U Directors face legal action over collapse
A leading American law firm has been asked to look into claims that Phones4u’s directors and mobile network partners were responsible for the company’s collapse into administration. Sky News has learnt that Quinn Emanual Urquhart and Sullivan has been appointed by the chain’s administrators, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), to look into the action of the directors before the demise. This could lead to legal action should the directors be judged to have breached their fiduciary duties as company directors.

HTC Desires 820s with 1.7GHz Octa-Core 64-bit MediaTek SoC announced
HTC has announced the Desire 820s, a variant of the Desire 820 smartphone in China. It uses a 1.7GHz Octa-Core 64-bit MediaTek (MT6752 likely) processor instead of Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor in the Desire 820. Other specifications are similar to the Desire 820, including a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display, Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with HTC Sense 6 UI on top, 13-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front-facing camera and dual-front-facing BoomSound speakers. OmniVision introduces 23MP and 21MP camera sensors for high-end smartphones
OmniVision Technologies has introduced OV23850 and OV21840, new 23.8-megapixel and 21.4-megapixel camera sensors in the PureCel-S series aimed at high-end smartphones. These are based on OmniVision’s advanced stacked die process, which separates the imaging array from the image sensor processing pipeline into a stacked die structure providing additional sensor functionalities, such as phase detection autofocus (PDAF), two-dimensional contrast fast autofocus and HDR video, while maintaining a small footprint, says the company.
