Samsung has announced the Galaxy Xcover 3 rugged smartphone in the Xcover series official, after it leaked in live images earlier this year. It is water resistant to a depth of one meter for up to 30 minutes with IP67 certification, dust proof and even meets the US Military Standard MIL-STD 810G to withstand a fall of up to 1.2 meters. It has a 4.5-inch WVGA (480 × 800 pixels) display, is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat), which is upgradable to Android 5.0 (Lollipop) in future. HERE has launched the HERE Maps for iPhone finally. Unlike the HTML5-based maps that was released back in 2012, the is a full app that has been created from the ground up. Apart from the walking, transit and driving directions and full turn-by-turn voice guidance with spoken street names, this also has offline mode that lets you use all these features offline. HERE Maps was released for Android last year and it came out of Beta last month.

HTC Desire 820s dual sim, a variant of the Desire 820 smartphone is now available in India, according to Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom. It has a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display, Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with HTC Sense 6 UI on top, features a 13-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front-facing camera and dual-front-facing BoomSound speakers, similar to the Desire 820, but it is powered by a 1.7GHz Octa-Core 64-bit MediaTek MT6752 processor instead of Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor.
