A latest leak from @evleaks about the BlackBerry Venice, an upcoming Android Slider phone from the company, has surfaced offering more details regarding the phone. The first Android phone from the company will come with a slide out QWERTY keyboard.
Apparently Motorola is planning to launch not one but two new handsets on Verizon this year. They are expected to be the DROID Maxx 2 and the DROID Turbo 2. The former is expected to be a mid-range device that is said to be a rebranded version of the Moto X Play.

Uber has announced that it has expanded its service to four new cities – Guwahati, Nashik, Thiruvananthapuram and Vadodara in India. It expanded to 7 new cities, Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, Indore, Mysore, Nagpur, Surat and Vizag last month and present in Bangalore, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh and Kolkata and Kochi in India. Carl Pei, one of the co-founders of OnePlus has just posted the link to the OnePlus 2 Kernel on his twitter profile. The kernel will allow developers to create custom ROMs for the device.
Joining the bandwagon of other smartphone makers like Xiaomi and Microsoft, homegrown smartphone maker, Micromax is planning to develop its own OS, as per a latest report from the Economic Times.

Oppo has introduced Oppo R5s, an upgraded version of last year’s Oppo R5 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, compared to 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It has the same 4.85mm thin body, stainless steel micro-arc frame and still requires an USB-to-3.5mm audio adapter. LG has announced LG G Pad II 10.1, the company’s latest Android tablet and the successor of last year’s G Pad 10.1 ahead of IFA 2015. It has a 10.1-inch (1920 x 1200) WUXGA display and runs on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop). LG has decided to go with the old Snapdragon 800 SoC for the tablet. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera without flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes in both WiFi and 4G variants. Apple has found that a small percentage of iPhone 6 Plus units that were sold between September 2014 and January 2015 have a manufacturing defect in the rear iSight camera causing blurry images. It has launched a replacement program that would let users with the defect to replace the camera unit. According to 9to5Mac, Apple will only replace the iSight camera component within the iPhone 6 Plus and not hand out new replacement phones.

Xiaomi is all set to enter the African market in September, according to a report from Forbes.
