BlackBerry Venice, the company’s upcoming slider smartphone will launch as BlackBerry Priv, according to Evan Blass of @evleaks. This has been confirmed by N4BB’s sources. He also posted a new press image of the smartphone that shows its huge display, slider keyboard and the speaker grill.

We had already seen several press renders and videos of the upcoming BlackBerry Venice smartphone, now live images have surfaced (via) showing the smartphone from different angles. It also shows the smartphone running on Android Lollipop, but this is still a prototype, and the final version will run on forked version of Lollipop with important BB10 features and its own apps to differentiate the phone from other Android devices.

BlackBerry teased a dual-curved slider smartphone with a large touch screen display at the Mobile World Congress earlier this year. The Slider got codenamed Venice back in June and was rumored to come with Android OS. A render of the smartphone running Android Lollipop surfaced in July. This is the same great display that we’ve seen on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and for obvious reasons, it immediately piqued our interest in the device.
