Oculus Go standalone VR headset launched in 23 countries starting at $199

At the F8 event, Facebook announced that launch of  Oculus Go, the company’s first standalone headset in 23 countries, as expected. It was introduced back in October last year, has a lightweight design and comes with 1,000+ apps like Netflix, Hulu, SHOWTIME, CNN AR, games like Anshar Online, B-Team, Pet Lab, République VR and experiences like Jurassic World: BLUE, MelodyVR, Space Explorers. It has breathable fabrics, adjustable straps and the company says that it has best lenses yet. It is made by Xiaomi and is powered by Qualcomm. Apple reports $13.8 billion profit on $61.1 billion revenue in FY Q2 2018, 52.2 million iPhones sold

Apple has reported quarterly revenue of $61.1 billion, up 16% over last year with a record Q2 net profit of $13.8 billion, up 25.4% YoY in their earnings for the financial year Q2 2018 that ended March 31, 2018. During earnings call Tim Cook said that the growth was broad-based, with iPhone revenue up 14%, services up 31% and wearables up almost 50%. He said that the company grew in each of its geographic segments, and in Greater China and Japan, revenue was up more than 20%. Samsung Galaxy A6+ with 6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, dual rear cameras, 24MP front camera and Galaxy A6 announced

Samsung just announced the Galaxy A6 (SM-A600F) and Galaxy A6+ (SM-A605F) smartphones in the ‘Galaxy A Series’ after several leaks. Both the phones come with Super AMOLED Infinity displays with 18.5:9 screen ratio, but the A6 comes with a 5.6-inch HD+ screen while the A6+ features a 6-inch FHD+ screen. Both the phones have a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, and the A6+ also has a secondary 5-megapixel rear camera with Live Focus mode that lets you control the depth of field and bokeh effect before or even after the shot is taken. ACT Fibernet upgrades existing plans at no extra cost in Hyderabad, Giga Plan now offers 2TB FUP

ACT Fibernet has revised its plans for its customers in Hyderabad, in just 7 months of last upgrade. It upgraded plans for Bengaluru users last month. ACT Fibernet’s premium 1 Gbps plan now offers 2TB (download+upload) of FUP, but the company has removed 1TB  upload and 1TB download limit. In Bengaluru city, the same ACT Giga plan is now offering 2.5TB FUP for the users. Alongside the ACT Giga plan, it has also upgraded FTTH plans in Hyderabad. Coolpad has launched Note 6, the company’s latest budget smartphone in the Note series in India, which is offline exclusive. It packs a 5.5-inch 1080p 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 435 SoC, runs on Android 7.1 (Nougat), and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera along with a 5-megapixel secondary front camera along with flash and capability to capture 120-degree wide-angle selfies, making it the first selfie focused smartphone from the brand. Microsoft recently announced that it will start rolling out Windows 10 April 2018 update for Windows 10 users from April 30th. Today the company has announced that will begin the global roll out out via Windows Update on May 8, but you can get it manually. The update brings improved Focus Assist, a new Timeline feature for recalling previous apps you were working on across machines.

OPPO and Amazon India partner to launch Realme smartphone brand, Realme 1 launching on May 15

After teasing a new brand yesterday, Amazon India has officially announced the launch of its new Realme brand in partnership with OPPO. It also said that the first phone – Realme 1 will launch with them exclusively on May 15th. This reveals Black Diamond version of the phone with triangular-cut patterns that shimmer bright and dark shades when seen from different angles, same as the OPPO F7. Last week OPPO introduced  A3 with similar Diamond patterns on the back, so the Realme 1 could be a cheaper version with a similar design. WhatsApp CEO and co-founder Jan Koum is leaving Facebook

Brian Acton who co-founded WhatsApp with Jan Koum in 2009 left the company back in September last year. Today WhatsApp CEO Jan Koum has announced that he is leaving the company. The popular messaging app was then acquired by Facebook for $19 billion in 2014. WhatsApp crossed 1 billion daily active user milestone last year. Now you can get JEE Main exam results, GATE, SSC CGL, CAT test dates within Google Search

Google today announced that it has worked with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to launch to make the JEE Main exam results available on the Google Search results page as soon as they are announced. You can just search “JEE Main results”, enter the roll number and date of birth, and the individual results will be displayed.
