Xiaomi Mi 9 with 6.39-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 855, triple rear cameras, in-display fingerprint sensor announced

Xiaomi just announced the Mi 9, the company’s latest flagship smartphone as it had promised. It has a 6.39-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection and 90.7% screen to body ratio since it has 3.6mm small chin, making it 40% narrower than the Mi 8. It is powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 7nm Mobile Platform with Game Turbo with real-time CPU/GPU/FPS monitoring, up to 8GB of RAM and runs Android 9.0 (Pie) with MIUI 10 on top.

Vivo V15 Pro with 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, Snapdragon 675, 32MP pop-up front camera launched in India for Rs. 28990

Vivo just launched V15 Pro, the company’s latest smartphone in the V series in India, as it had promised. It has a 6.39-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display without a notch with 2.2mm top and 1.75mm side bezels offering 91.64% screen-to-body ratio, features 32-megapixel pop-up front camera and the company says that the proximity and ambient light sensors are hidden under the display. Vivo says that the pop-up camera has 0.46 second elevating speed and the mechanism has been tested over 3lakh times. It is powered by Snapdragon 675 AIE with 6GB of RAM, Dual Turbo gaming mode, eSports mode for online gaming and runs Android 9.0 (Pie) with Funtouch OS 9.

Razer Phone 2 Android Pie update to roll out from February 27th; Razer lays off 2% workforce

Razer has announced that it will roll out Android Pie update to the Razer Phone 2 starting from next week. Since Razer keeps its UI close to stock, the Pie software too is pretty close what you’d find on Pixel phones. It brings gestures and they are enabled by default. However, Razer’s launcher doesn’t support the suggested apps or a long-swipe to get to the app drawer. Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon X55 5G modem, which is the company’s second-generation 5G New Radio (NR) modem. The Snapdragon X55 is a 7-nanometer single-chip integrated 5G to a 2G multimode modem that supports 5G NR mmWave and sub-6GHz spectrum bands with up to 7Gbps download speeds and 3Gbps upload speeds over 5G, and Category 22 LTE with up to 2.5 Gbps LTE download speeds. Qualcomm said to be testing QM215 SoC for Android Go phones

Qualcomm is said to be working on a new super low-end QM215 SoC that is likely targeted at the new generation Android Go smartphones. Meaning the SoC should be found on devices with 1/2GB RAM and 8/16GB storage with HD+ display. Huawei P30 series to be announced on March 26 in Paris

After rumors, Huawei has announced that it will introduce its flagship P30 series of smartphones at an event in Paris on March 26th. It has #RewriteTheRules tagline and the company says that ‘Rules were made to be rewritten’. As usual, the next-generation P-Series smartphone will focus on the camera, and the teaser hints at loss-less zoom.
