Xiaomi said to be testing 120Hz AMOLED display for 2020 flagship smartphone

Xiaomi launched K20 Pro (Mi 9T Pro) flagship smartphone this year, and it introduced Mi 9 Pro 5G in China recently, but these feature standard 60Hz display, compared to 90Hz display in OnePlus, Pixel 4 and 120Hz display in ASUS ROG Phone II and Razer Phone 2. IDC reports record 46.6 million India smartphone shipments in Q3 2019, 9.3% YoY growth

IDC India has reported a record 46.6 million units for smartphone shipments in Q3 2019, which calculates to a 9.3% YoY growth and a 26.5% growth compared to the Q2 this year. This record was largely due to the multiple online sales festivals, new smartphone launches and price corrections on many important models.

MediaTek 5G chip will be announced on November 26, will power 5G phones in 2020

At the MediaTek Summit in San Diego, the company teased its upcoming 5G chip with the model number MT6885Z. It also confirmed that it will introduce the chip on November 26th. At the Computex 2019 in Taiwan back in May the company’s already said that the 5G SoC will be built using 7nm FinFET process technology and MediaTek Helio M70 5G modem built in, and we can expect the full specifications of this chip at the event.

LG sues TCL over LTE patents in Germany

LG has filed lawsuits against Chinese handset manufacturer TCL in Germany for infringing its LTE technology patents. Three lawsuits include, minimizing the loss of packet transmission, control timers for uplink synchronization and interference reduction in the uplink synchronizing process. Vivo Y9s with 6.38-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, 48MP quad rear cameras, in-display fingerprint scanner gets certified

After the Y7s and the Y5s, upcoming Y9s smartphone has been certified by TENAA in China with model numbers V1945T and V1945A revealing complete specifications. This reveals a 6.38-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, 2GHz processor which could be MediaTek Helio P65 12nm SoC with up to 8GB of RAM, 48MP primary sensor, 8MP ultrawide sensor, 2MP depth and a  2MP macro sensor, as well as a 32MP front-facing camera. It will likely feature an in-display fingerprint scanner and packs it shows a 4500mAh battery with support for fast charging.
